If Hop can dominate Pav for 12 rounds without even knocking him down Williams wouldn't be able to hurt him. The only possible way he wins is a decision. No way PW stops Pav.
Pavlik won't fight the punisher anytime soon. He wouldn't want to risk another loss so soon. Had do we know Pavlik isn't shot mentally? He might not be right again regarding confidence, all though Rubio is a good punch-bag for him, can't believe that's on PPV.
if jermain taylor @ 159 (middle weight limit) could put pavlik down on the groudn but not finish him... why couldnt paul williams? paul is taller than jt paul has a longer reach than jt... Paul can bang ( i dont know if he can bang harder than jt)
im just curious like what does filling out have to do with this fight? jermain taylor was shorter & had less reach then paul... if pauls power can carry over to middle weight he has a good chance.... jt should have finished pavlik but he just tired out.. then let that jab get the best of him
The reality of it is both Williams and Pavlik are above average boxers who both rely on volume punching. The difference is: Williams has decent power for a WW, while Pavlik has great power for a MW. The only advantage I see for Williams here is hand speed and possibly footwork.
He has the lateral movement, better stamina, and a lil faster with his hands. If he can use his speed to avoid any big punches from Pav, he can definetely win.
