Paul williams vs. Kelly pavlik

He's a solid fighter, but dude said he could beat Pavlik. :-(

so basically this fight will be dictated on whether paul can carry his power to 160.. cause if he can he has a fair & realistic shot... if power doesnt carry over hes done for right? fair assessment?

lmao he came in the ring with corrales @ 170 so who knows

 

They are significant advantages, but Williams's limited boxing skills may mitigate that somewhat. And, if Williams lacks to power to hurt Pavlik or even gain his respect, those advantages are reduced to 0.

 

We don't even know if Williams can take many solid hits from a hard hitting MW.

 

I guess ppl dont realize how limited Pav is. If a 43yr old could do that to Pav, imagine what a young, fresh, good stamina, good legs fighter like PW could do to Pav. We already had a poll and ESB picked PBF over Pav.

 

#1 - PW has a better chin than he gets credit for. (Never touched the damn canvas - EVER)

#2 - PW is a southpaw

#3 - PW's height eliminates the physical advantage that Pavlik is used to, the same way that PW's advantages would be eliminated

#4 - PW's punching power may not be the same as Pavlik's, but he can carry decent power to 160

#5 - He is physically capable of following the BHop strategy, at least good enough for 7 of the 12 Rounds, instead of the 12-0 shutout that was rendered. Whether he does it or not is the question.

#6 - He has a much better workrate than anyone Pavlik has fought.

HOWEVER, Pavlik should still be the huge favorite of this fight were to take place. PW does like to trade a bit excessively, although I don't see where it has ever hurt him much. He definitely stands the chance of eating too much leather, but the predictions of 3 and 4 round KOs are a bit much. This fight would be a lot better than you guys are making it out to be. It would not hurt his career, though, because I think he would make a good enough showing to prove that he can hang at 160.

 

true .. i guess if that happens we will be reduced to a boxing match.... either way i think this fight would be exciting and would end in a t/ko
and if it went to a decision it would be a goody

i know... thats why i want to see this fight....lol i personally think he can but if he cant ... whatever its another win under pavliks belt..

In reality, Williams has got to be at least 6'-2" 1/2

There's Paul's problem. He can't keep Pavlik off of him. Kelly walks him down and knocks him the **** out inside 7 rounds.

 

Clottey could beat Pav
