Paul williams vs. Kelly pavlik

even if he gives movement, he doesnt have enough power to slow pav down, he doesnt have the stamina to keep him off, and pav would just walk him down. it's a 147/154 guy vs a big big middleweight.

 

Clottey is stationary, which is totaly wrong against Pavlik. He fights in spurts with questionable stamina, and doesn't hit hard. Pavlik's punches will bust through his tight guard and do serious damage even if they land on his arms or shoulders.

Not that simple.

Clottey would weigh at least 175-180 if the fight were at 160. And I don't see any indication that Pavlik has the speed to penetrate his defense before taking a few uppercuts in the process.

I think Clottey, of all WWs is losing the most strength by draining to 147. At 160, he would probably really show his power.

I again would favor Pavlik, but I can't completely write Clottey off.

pavlik would find his range when he walks clottey down. clottey's guard would get him punished by a taller, naturally bigger man. i'd give clottey less than a 10 percent chance honestly. and i'm no pavlik fan and actually like clottey a lot.

 

I just feel Clottey is very underrated. Clottey is very smart & Clottey has even more determination now that he's a champ. Clottey has great D, a great chin, his stamina has been better lately, & looking at Pavliks last performance, I gotta pick Clottey over Pav. Excuse me if Im wrong or I like Clottey that much.

 

I love Kelly Pavlik, but he hasn't looked nearly as good when fighting above middleweight. The added weight really seems to affect his jab and the velocity of his punches a lot.

i like clottey a lot and feel hes a little underrated too. id give him a good shot at outboxing and countering cotto to a decision win and id love to see him rematch margarito. but until he actually fights at 160, i have a tough time seeing how he beats pavlik. i dont see it all actually.

pw has a much better shot @ kelly.

 

I dunno...I like Pavlik because of his size and his ability to take punches-I like Paul because he throws a lot of punches and is also a good boxer as well...DRAW

 

Pavlik is an overgrown MW, he should be fighting the guys at 168 if he wants to make a claim at being the best. Beating Rubio aint gonna erase the memories of what Hopkins did to him.

 

what pavlik should be doing is fighting AA. the two should stop beating around the bush and just fight already. then they could go to 168

Sorry, but these are all far more credible than the lying ******* that promotes Williams. That's the last place I'd go for information. The guy is so bad he'll end up ruining Paul's chances of being important.
