Pavlik by TKO round 10. Williams should dominant at 154 though.

 

Yes he should do great at 154. If he really wants to move to 160 eventually, he should fight a couple set ups at catch weights; guys better than Kolle, but not dangerous. After that, take on a couple guys like Zuniga or Ornales at a full 160. Move up the right way.

 

LOL!! I've been reading a good bit about him lately though, and I've not seen anything written by an author who didn't seem to absolutely adore watching him.

 

Danny was one of the most exciting TV fighters ever. If you've never seen Lopez/Ayala try to get a copy. 1979 Ring Magazine fight of the year, and strong contender for fight of the decade. When danny retired Boxing Today Magazine did a huge article on his career. "Danny 'Little Red' Lopez: Kock him down, he'll get up and kill ya."

It just shows I have a wide range of general knowledge, and these two wooden dummies, slogging it out, may actually be rather amusing, certainly better than Hopkins runing rings around a bemused hick in Pavlik anyway.

 

Thanks for the recomendation, bro. Being born in '76, I sure as hell didn't get to see any of him, but like said earlier, I'm finding good reading material and that dude sounded like he'd have been a blast to be a fan of.

Great post, it about sums it up completely. The only thing I would add is PW is no Bhop's, so add that.

BTW Boo, I saw something a few months ago on Danny Lopez, can't recall where. But he seemed to be doing well, which is nice to to see as so many ex fighters end up screwed up.

 

Danny made some good money boxing because he put asses in seats. Now he works construction, has a beautiful home, still with his wife Bonnie, and they have some grand kids. (Grandpa Danny; that's an odd thought!)

 

Can I assume (By the way Calzhage looked a bit of a fish -with the tendency to swim against Hopkins in his first time at that weight -in strong opinion) that you give no credit to Calzhages variability to throw strong punches (bad-VERY-hands) I often am soooooo tempted to end conversation with people who don't,not YOU of course. Calzhage still able to look full of endurance. I thought -really truly knew that the fight had turned dramatically just at the time Hopkins took a break -He'll always find one in my HUGE opinion. My perception of his body language so forth backs what others just take for flat assumed. Hopkins will always look brilliant for a fight that goes just slow enough -as he didn't against Calzhage. U gotta overlook a Mountain to give everything to hard punches. This is based on your opinion already that Calzhage is not much. Influenced by your not seeing a good string of his prior work as many have. Thanks for responding.:admin
