Paul Williams Vs. Miguel Cotto @ 147 (obviously) Who Wins It?.....

I think one of the problems in using the Quintana analogy is that PW is a BETTER fighter than he was at that point. PW is still a very young fighter and honing his skills.

Sure, Coto may win. But I dont think anything can be predicted based on the Quintana v1 fight.

I'll go with Cotto by UD. If he can get to the body and be effective, I aagree with you guys that he can slow Williams down and pull off the decision. But that's the thing I worry about the most, he fought a guy in Margarito who stands in front of you and is easy to hit yet couldn't get to the body. Would be a good fight to see.

 

It would be a great fight. That being said cotto can't keep up with williams workrate, similar to margo. Stylistically it is **** for cotto. Cotto doesn't have the abililty to make williams miss as much as he would need. also, cotto won't be able to budge williams or control him with his power.....i got williams by close decision or late tko.

 

Bad match up for Cotto. PTP's work rate and solid chin poses the exact same challenge that Margo posed only PTP would start and finish fast unlike like Margarito who typically starts slow.

 

That's if he can actually get quality opponents to agree to fight him.

If he want's Margo for real's he should have stay or go back to 147 to prove something by fighting guy's like Clottey,Cintron,Berto.LuisC ect... So he can make some noise and then when Margo beat's Mosley and has the rematch with Cotto pwilly can fight the winner.

 

I think Cotto would put a beating on Williams midriff and slow the taller man down. Williams height, speed and awkward style will cause Cotto some difficulty, but if Cotto punches in bunches and counters well, and applies educted pressure, there is no reason why he can't take a decision. Cotto's footwork will be important if he were to be victorious.

 

Cintron ducked him, Dibella won't allow Berto anywhere near him, Clottey hasn't stepped up, and Margo has lost his fighting spirtit and refuses to avenge his lost to him. PTP has stated that he's willing to go back to 147 if the major players of the division actually want to play.

 

Cotto absolutely will not fight him. Clottey was going to happen, but HBO didn't want it. Berto ain't trying to do ****. Got anymore names?
