Paul Williams Vs. Miguel Cotto @ 147 (obviously) Who Wins It?.....

I dont understand those who think that Margo is scared of williams atsch When Margo was and is the only one who gave him a change when pwilly was begging for a fight with Margo:deal And if Margo wanted he could of just trun pwilly down and go fight Cotto so no he is not scared of him he will fight him later.

 

Yes PTP has physical advantages over Margo but Margo has physical advantages over virtually every other welter himself so I'd say Margo is a sww or a middle weight himself. And I never said Margo is scared of PTP but I am saying that usually in every walk of life if a man is beaten he usually wants to redeem himself and avenge his defeat especially when it was a close loss. In this case welter weight supermacy is on the line (the ring belt) which is another incentive to rematch PTP but your boy remains reluctant. Margo is a great fighter but I have to question fighting spirit in this reguard.

Williams is a stylistic nightmare for Cotto he beats the hell outta him. Cotto had hell with Margo's pressure and size he would have hell with Williams who is faster more active and flat out better. If Paul hurts Cotto he will not stop until either the ref stops it or Cotto goes down. If I was with team Cotto I wouldn't let Cotto anywhere near Williams. Anyone who picks Cotto in this fight either doesn't know boxing is a Williams hater or both.:deal

Cotto by KO. Body shots will be the difference in the fight. Cotto is more consistent going to the body and is way more brutal in doing so.

 

Cotto isn't going to KO Williams he couldn't hurt Margo and he won't hurt Williams either it's a pipe dream at best.:-( What most of you people fail to realize is Williams is getting better. Cotto can't stand up to Williams attack for 12 rounds he doesn't have the chin or stamina to do it. All you have to do is watch the Margo-Cotto fight and the Williams-Margo fight to see it. A green Williams beat Margo at his own game he's better at fighting that style than Margo is he would stop Cotto sooner than Margo did.:deal

 

Just because he couldnt hurt Margarito doesnt mean he cant hurt Williams either. Margarito went to Williams body and Williams jumped up and down like he was in serious ****. He has a skinny ass frame not to mention it would be at 147 which means Williams wont carry the extra weight around to handle Cottos brutal body attack. :deal

When I first thought about this fight, I thought "Williams, easy."

But when you think about how much of a precision puncher Cotto is, how good his timing is and how hard he can throw (see Margo's face), this would actually be a really interesting fight, and one Cotto could win. We already know Williams can be outboxed, Quintana showed that. If Quintana can beat Williams, a far-better Cotto could as well.

I hope this fight gets made at some point, though I doubt it will because of Arum. I favor Paul, his freakish physical attributes for the weight class and his workrate, but I could see Cotto winning the fight with superior boxing and accuracy. It could be one heck of a scrap.

Nobody but Margarito could have done to Cotto what Margarito did. And, who knows, once the still-young Cotto makes his comeback, Margarito may not be able to repeat the feat, either.

 

Williams is a good body puncher as well didn't you see him kill Verno last night to the body? He would do the same to Cotto as well on the inside and kill him from the outside. There's really nothing Cotto can do to beat Williams he simply doesn't have it. He's not slick enough. Williams has all the styles advantages and that's why he's winning this poll but stubborn Williams haters like yourself refuse to see it.:deal Mark my words, if Cotto fights Williams he will get brutally beaten and destroyed a blind man can see it.:deal Also how will Cotto deal with Williams workrate? He can't outwork Williams who will win rounds just by staying active if he tries to stand and trade with Williams he will be forced to retreat to the ropes where we all know he doesn't like it. Williams beats anyone in boxing from 154 and down. Williams by TKO is the smart pick here.

 

Williams has improved from that fight. Not to mention he avenged his loss in devastating fashion with a first round KO.:deal Williams confidence is sky high right now unlike Cotto's who would be shook as soon as he got a taste of Williams in the ring. He would quickly realize this was going to be just like Cotto-Margo only worse, he can't beat Williams no shame in that he's a much smaller man and is at a extreme styles disadvantage.

 

I'd love to pick Cotto....but Williams is a monster and will not make the same mistakes he made against Quintana.

I think P-Dub would spark Cotto, but due to Miguelito being my favourite active boxer I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and go for a Punisher W via UD.

However, the height of Williams might be a disadvantage. Unlike Margo, Williams would be more susceptible to shots around the body. If Cotto can figure out a way to get inside and pound away at the body he might be able to force a stoppage, as I think Williams would be in agony if he tried to make 147 nowadays (i.e a few months down the line when a Cotto fight would be viable) and he has a very good chin, so I could see him walking through Cotto's shots like Margo did.

Who knows? There are too many variables in a fight between these to guys, I still think Williams would win though.

 

Good body puncher but not as brutal as Cotto. Cant deny that Williams has a skinny frame and cant deny Margarito hurt Williams badly when he went to the body. Cotto is more brutal going to the body then Margarito. Cotto wont have to deal with Williams work rate. He will land the cleaner effective punches that will gain Williams respect once he hits him there. Cotto hits crazy hard and I dont think he has a great chin like Margarito to with stand that. Trust me, once Cotto is done with him his face and body will be all mangled. :yep
