Yeah, I thought that was pretty obvious, but given the fact that there actually are idiots running around on this forum who claim that Williams was being "outboxed" by Quintana in the rematch before the stoppage, I guess I can understand why he took me seriously.

Yeah, I almost did too. Especially with the way some idiots like to point at the first fight as if the rematch never ever ever ever happened.:patsch

Quintana had just enough finesse to confuse Williams that night when all Williams was looking to do was bang.

Cotto loses this one . We've seen Cotto hurt at 140 and seen him destroyed at 147 agasint a bigger guy with a larger workrate. Williams may just smash the dude.

Ever stop to think that it's possible that Williams underestimated Quintana? Do you think thats possible... You know there is great chance Williams would approach a Cotto fight much differently. So you really cant use the one fight where Williams looked bad against a guy he most likely overlooked...then use that for a direct comparision against a guy he would have more respect for and has even learned a lesson about underestimation opponents...

Cotto go stopped by a pressure fight with a good chin...Williams took Marg blows... Williams has the chin reach and work rate to cause hell for Cotto...

No.... He never stopped to think about that. And he never stopped to think that maybe (just maybe) Williams used that loss (like Margo used his loss) to inspire him to train harder and take things more seriously.

I guess since that rematch never happened in his eyes that he couldn't consider that as evidence.

    Quintana is a bum?
Kolle is no world beater but he is a real middleweight that went 6 rounds with Ward which was stopped because of swelling and he couldn't even go one round with Paul.

tough one to call, but i think pw seems kinda weak and drained at 147. ****, he has a reach length longer than both klits! i like both fighters, cotto the faster and more accurate of the 2, while pw more powerful one punch ko power and relentless pressure and great chin. pw's chances of koing cotto are higher than cotto koing pw, but if pw has a weakness it's speed and cotto has a lightning fast jab and great lateral movement. the differences between pw and margo that i see is that pw can do what margo does plus he can box very well on the outside. what he doesn't have that margo does is that margo is a better finisher once he smells blood and margo alittle more relentless. in pw's fight with verno, there were times verno caught pw and pw would take a step back and seemed hurt, while margo won't do that. i think cotto has a good chance against both margo and pw or even floyd. imo if he learns from his losses he could return as an even better fighter which i believe he can

I think Williams stops him, to balance out my disregard for him in the Pavlik thread!

Wait a minute! So you're saying that the same guy who does nothing but "slap" actually knocked OUT a halfway decent middleweight in the 1st round? :huh
