thats absurd, fighting a completely shot mayorga and beating a margarito who literally had one eye, doesnt resurrect your career. the last time cotto fought prime guys he lots 3 times in a row. yuri foreman has done nothing on an elite level.

he won the fight by landing more punches and outworking martinez, he controlled the tempo, something cotto didnt come close to doing against clottey.

paul williams just put a clinic on Ishida who just got done knocking out kirkland, the same kirkland that just beat angulo. Cotto is a protected fraud.

he beat martinez and no title was on the line, i consider that a bigger win than anything in cottos career. he also beat margarito who beat the living crap out of cotto and ruined his career.

cotto lost to clottey, who has no significant win in his entire career. word titles dont mean anything, i guess you think the martinez williams fought wasnt worthy of a world title, your points foundation rests upon this joke premise that world titles mean something.

you talked about cotto not being protected by fighting 147lb mayweather and pacquiao and then ignore the fact they both ducked paul williams.

cotto's best win was a razor thin decision against mosley and a fight against damaged goods zab judah. paul williams wins are better and he is more feared, having been ducked by most elite fighters.

you also forgot the fact that paul williams has only struggled with southpaw fighters and has soundly beaten the crap out of every orthodox guy he has fought. he lost to quintana because of a bad night where he was probably injured the whole fight and then he goes on to stop him in 1rd the next time/

throw the whole world title bit out, all that matters is williams beat the guy that ruind cotto, he beat martinez and he just got done beating a guy who is better than yuri foreman.

 

cotto just fought a one eyed margarito that shouldnt even have been licensed. prior to that he fought a completely shot mayorga coming off a 1 year layoff.these guys arent even ranked at JMW, a prospect should be fighting this kind of opposition not a "world titlist"
