If Ishida wins how far from a title shot do you all think he will be?

Not far at all, at least rightfully.

The man blew Kirkland out of there, when Angulo couldn't. Kirkland loses to Ishida, beats 2 no hopers (kinda like Ihida's one fight since) then gets an eliminator.

At the very least, if this fight doesn't end up being an eliminator, Ishida's next (if he won against P.Will) fight rightfully should be a official eliminator, or a title shot.

Ishida is vastly overrated on this board.

He has a 1st round win against a guy with a history of a weak chin now all of a sudden hes a world beater ignoring his 28% KO rating and having losses and close wins against D+ level fighters.

This fight will bounce Williams back into the discussion at the elite level even though it shouldnt.

I think it mostly stems from Kirkland having a positive year, and Ishida sparked him out so quickly

How is it such a farfetched idea? Paul Williams got schooled by a Jr. Middle in Erislandy Lara, and was KTFO by Sergio Martinez right before. with Ishida coming off a win against a top 5 middleweight.

Paul is wrong for Ishida. He is a volume puncher and Ishida is not good against fighters like that. Ishida likes to take his time.

Some think Ishida is a journey man but i disagree. I had him 116-112 against Alvarez and after some digging i found a few people who thought that Ishida should have won in 2004 and even 2002.

Now Williams was defiantly affected by the Martinez KO. He also took a beating from Lara.
You can also make a case that he hasn't won a fight since 2009.

Ishida can punch(not saying he is a actual puncher). He just does do it. Against Alvares he got rather pissed and he went after him(something he doesn't do and that's why his KO % is low).
He but Kirkland down three times and in his last outing he had a first round TKO. I know it was against some dude who had his debut but the two back to back TKO wins probably boosted his ego.

William will force Ishida to fight back and but some steam behind his punches.

The only way Williams can win is by robbery. To be honest i don't think any judge wants to do something stupid, look at what happened last time.

He just wants Williams to get some attention in this thread.
So that Williams would still look good in every discussions.

Ishida will get cheated by Williams' judges. Williams always has the judges on his side. Watch and see..............

Ishida just isn't that good imo. I think Williams has enough to outwork him over 12.

I'm surprised at how even the debate on this one has been going.
