It is not Oscar that is being pumped up. How we soon forget all the members sealing Williams coffin when he first lost to Carlos. Now Williams is ready to beat anyone. Let's stop talking about how Oscar could not knock out Forbes. That was his edge, that he was never knocked out. If he would have knocked him out, then this thread would be going with Oscar 99%. Did Williams improve? I did not see the fight, but of course he improved. Losing for the first time and being humiliated by everyone and his cat talking about Williams is done. It is only fair that Carlos gets another shot due to also improving his game plan to beat Williams again. Williams vs Oscar....Carlos vs Mosley or Cintron. Then if they both win, fight the rubbermatch on November. It's not about the past, Oscar still has one or two fights left in him. Inactivity is what did that to his face.

He's improved in 1 fight ? Man all he did was use his reach againt Quintana which he should of done from the gate ..But he was still open for the over hand rights ..Even in his one rd KO of Indio I am still not convinced that he's a world beater !And if it does go to the lter rds I will always go with experience ..DLH by late stoppage !

Paul Williams gets knocked out in round 9. Sure he throws many punches but he throws them wild and gets caught very easily. Quintana hit him with a left lead on many occassions. Oscar tattoes Williams with a series of jabs and knocks him out with a hook. It just so happens Williams' weakness fall into Oscar's strengths.

Any fighter caught by the right punch at the right time will have the same result. It says nothing about Oscar's chin. Marciano won a fight with his nose split in two.

I'm a big fan of De La Hoya, but I totally agree with this. PW by UD.

I don't see Williams stopping Oscar, but it could get dicey in the final rounds if Oscar's stamina doesn't hold up. Oscar is an old man in boxing, but in top form he could probably still pull off a SD by virtue of aggression and making Williams back up.

I know what Oscar brings to the table, but Williams is a bit of an unknown quantity with his uninspiring loss to quintana and then the ko rematch in the first round . . .

oscar is super old, for a boxer anyway. His wokrate was never SPECTACULAR anyway, not bad but not great and now on his grandpa hips and knees get tired easily. Right now, PW takes this easy decision. I think oscar will never lose that damn chin lol.

Oscar has not won a legitimate top level fight in years. And that is a fact. Ricardo Mayorga? He dragged the poor dude out of retirement to beat on him. After Tito had done all the damage. He got his butt kicked by Felix Sturm and pulled out a gift decision there.

Honestly you could go back about 6 years to the Vargas fight. That was the last time DLH really pulled a legitimate victory out. Unless of course you consider his shameless loss to BHop as a victory. One that already has dubious written all over it.

It should be no wonder to you why Oscar De La Hoya, who is about 154lbs solid these days, is calling out jr.welterweights. First Mayweather now Hatton. Ask DLH why he won't get in the ring with a legitimate top level jr.middle like Sergey Dzinzurik.

He's a spectacle. Nothing more. He presents no problems for the top class at 147 or 154.

And you saw no nails going into the Williams coffin here. I knew the first loss to Q was a fluke. If a rubber match ever happens you'll get one more KO to add to that considerable evidence.
