Williams at 168 would probably lose to guys like Anthony Hanshaw and Jesse Brinkley. The man is a weterweight, and although he is very tall, overall he is not a particularly large welterweight. Williams has extremely leaky defense, and when a natural SMW starts hitting him in the face, the lights go out.
Williams gets his ass handed to him by ever fighter in the Super Six. I really wouldnt rate PW that high at 168. I still don't think Williams can beat Martinez at 160.
goodness gracious this isnt very fair to williams. he had to eat like a horse for his fight w/ martinez and a lot of the S6 guys rehydrate back up to 178+. These are very good fighters in the S6 who are very big compared to williams. its a good way to get hurt
Having an excellent chin at welterweight does not really inspire me with confidence that he can take Kessler's best shots, let alone Froch and Abraham. Or Dirrell, for that matter. And let's not kid ourselves. Paul WOULD take those shots. Because Paul is not a defensively minded fighter. Has never been. His defense sucks. He was rattled by some of the shots Martinez gave him and...I don't think he does better than Taylor in this. I think he's forced to bow out, actually.
You're right. It's not fair at all really. Just because you can get on the scale in the same weight class doesn't mean the other guys are going to be coming into the ring on fight night in that weight class. Ward fighting Paul compared to Paul's first go with Quintana...the difference between preschool and high school, almost, I'd bet.
Exactly! Pdub at 147-154 is hell on wheels. At 160 he either wins or puts up a good fight against any currently active middleweight, but 160 is the upper limit. 168 is a bridge to far. That's not a knock on Paul. It's just a statement about physical limitations. It's no different than matching one of the guys from the S6 with Adamek. That would be an assasination, not a fight.
insert williams in round 12 of the froch/kessler fight. he can go toe to toe like that w/ smaller guys but not these fighters.
I don't think he has a good chance against all of the super 6 fighters. It will be too much for him, I doubt he could KO any of those guys, in fact he would be the one losing by KO. PW is good but come on people!
Lets first see him put on that extra weight and fights a solid top10 S. Middleweight before he takes on the best in the division But he would probably beat Green.
If PW could get Pac or FMJ, he would. Thats not what im asking. Relax toots, you dont have to be a dick.
