I'm going with the Punisher in this one. Verno is a tough guy, so I'll go with Williams by UD. Here's Gamblers Advisory's prediction on the fight. [yt]K0sMQrTSw8k[/yt]
Can't see how Williams doesn't win this too be honest. Unless he just doesn't show up mentally or something.
Everybody knows paul williams is one of my fav fighters, but verno is no bum,he has fought, ouma, candelo and he dropped ike quartey in a fight i think he won. This fight will be a great tough test for williams, because phillips is a solid fighter, with a great chin and he has punching power,i got williams by sd,but i wouldn't be suprised if phillips gets the win,i hope u all had a great thanksgiving and much respect.
This fight could go either way IMO, but I'm going to go with Phillips based on experience. Realistically, Phillips is the highest caliber opponent Paul will have ever faced. He was an olympic bronze medalist. Former 147 champ and 2 time 154 champ. I know people are going to be like, well what about Margarito? Margarito's a 147 lb fighter. Verno is a natural 154 lb fighter and last time I checked was ranked higher than Daniel Santos. In fact he's been ranked in the top ten of 154 for 328 weeks. That's more than twice as long as anyone else currently on the list. Verno is a little similar to Margarito in that he's flown under the radar as a high risk low reward fighter to the bigger names. He's also coming off of a win against Cory Spinks. Despite the disparity on the polls here, the betting odds are much closer like 5 to 3. Then there's the X factor that its his birthday and the fact that not only did he ask for and pursue this fight, he was even willing to vacate his IBF belt to get it. Those are the signs of someone that knows something.
