Paul Williams vs Verno Phillips

More like beating tomato cans asses. He's just a huge WW that volume punches. He hasn't proven he can deal with slick boxers that aren't 20+lbs naturally smaller than him. All of his stoppages have been against less than stellar competition. He has potential but I'm not about to crown him until he actually deserves it for his accomplishments in the ring. A win against an accomplished journeyman/title holder like Verno Phillips at 154 would go a long way for him establishing credibility in my eyes. But from what I've seen and what I know and seen from Verno, I think he'll have more than his handsful.

 

Is anyone else willing to be all of their Vcash on this one?

 

I'm just giving an honest assessment of Williams. He hasn't shown that he can deal with slick boxers, succesfully defend a title, or compete with the top guys at 154, 160 (lol), or 147 for that matter, and I'm not going to give him credit for anything until he actually accomplishes it. The only thing he's done is show that he can go the distance and outpoint Margarito (7-5), a fighter that comes straight in and stands right in front of him. And I'm from Cali, you dumbass.

 

He is a hype job. I'm not saying he isn't good, but he definitely isn't as good as him and his camp would lead you to believe, like he could hang and KO Pavlik and Hopkins:rofl. I guess we'll see. I also called Pavlik over-hyped too and not worthy of P4P status and predicted BHop would win. Verno ain't no BHop, but he ain't exactly a pushover either. I definitely know Verno can handle slick boxers, he just beat Cory Spinks, although it was close IMO.
