Well, good luck. I'm actually not even betting on this fight. I think its a pick'em fight. I only bet on sure things, like Hopkins over Pavlik. Maybe if the odds favor it a bit more but 5 to 3 is just not enticing enough.
While VP is a slick technition, Williams has to pressure VP and use his reach. Phillips had a lot of trouble with Ouma in both fights, and Spinks posed some problems also. Williams is more complete than both of those guys. I see Williams stopping VP in 5 unless VP is there to survive. PW has to watch VP early because that is when VP is most dangerous.
Are you serious Prophet? He lost to Q in 12, and took the man out in half a round. He also beat Margarito at 147. What more does he need to do? He has been trying to get fights with guys at 147 and it seems they are reluctant to fight him at 147.
:rofl :rofl :rofl . The thing you fail to realize is... Phillips is no Bernard Hopkins, nothing close
That's not my problem. I''m not a match maker or promoter. Quintana was only a top ten welterweight by virtue of beating Paul Williams. He should've never lost to him in the first place. Just because he beat Margarito doesn't mean he also beat Cotto, Clottey, and Cintron too, and I won't give him credit for that until he proves that he can. Margarito is the only top fighter he's beaten, which is a hell of a good win, but a well rounded fighter it does not prove you are. Styles make fights. The only slick boxer he's faced, who wasn't even a top ten guy gave him **** fits and that was a soft 147 fighter with stamina issues. I need to see more from the guy before I crown him.
If you read the thread, you'll actually see that I did mention that. Maybe not to you, but it is on the record.:deal
What do you mean he should have never lost to him? Fighters lose. Do you know how many fighters lost fights that they supposedly shouldn't have lost. Tyson shouldn't have lost to Buster, but Buster's mom died, and Buster fought like a man possessed. He didn't just outbox Mike, he beat the living shite out of him. As far as PW losing to Williams, he got revenge. The man went up to 160, and is now at 154 for a reason. The ww's don't want to fight him. I understand your point about the wait and see thing, but don't discredit a man who has done nothing to be discredited. You said PW is just hype. No son, he is not just hype. He is a tough son of a you know what with some flaws. PW is getting better with every fight.
That may be true. but I'm just trying to counter balance the propaganda out there that he would clean the floor with everyone from 147 to 168 and add a little dose of reality into the mix. The fact the he was able to crack the top ten P4P list based virtually on hype and assumption and a KO win over Andy Kolle just bothers me.
He isn't the first or last fighter to enter the top 10 pfp with what might be perceived as not enough credentials. Anyway, while I think PW gives PAvlik a fight stylewise...Abraham imo wipes the floor with Williams.
Prophet is far from dumb. Read his other posts when they don't concern PW. There's a difference in stupidity and the type of hatred that won't allow you to think.:good
