Currently, Paul Williams is -204. Winky Wright is -184....Williams was around -150 earlier so hes getting steam. Is there a good bet to be made here? Initially I felt Winky would be a good value bet at 1.5-1 but at 2-1 it feels like a trap and vegas knows somn in regards to winky's long layoff or the stylstic matchup. Thoughts? You guys like williams at 2-1 or wright at 2-1?
I think Williams outworks Winky to a decision. Winky wasnt exactly a punching machine when he was fighting and now he's been out for so long. Credit him for coming back against a live opponent but I see Williams using this as something to build a legacy on.
The line is now -220 Williams. +200 Wright...Does any1 have info on wright's training? Has he been looking bad or somn? Or do the sharps know somn we dont know? OR, is Wright's value just getting better and betteR?
These things move in relation to ongoing betting. Evidently, people are betting on Williams so bookies have to get people to bet on Winky to cover.
I know how sports betting works....But how do you interpret the push williams has gotten? Is Winky's odds getting pushed back because oddsmakers are trapping ppl to take wat percieves to be a 'live dog'? Or is Winky a very live dog at 2-1 and the bettors are sellling winky short as usual? I think there is an answer to this...I have a strong feeling one of these fighter's is gonna dominate this fight and I wanna take that guy. I just don't know which guy it is.
If i had the extra $$$ i would put it on Paul, he's got an excellent workrate and he's a decade younger, and Wright has been inactive for way to ****ing long hasn't fought since july 07:-(.. Smart money is on PW.....
2 year layoff is my biggest concern by far...I think typical Winky Wright wins this fight but who knows if typical winky wright will be coming to the ring.... Any news on the shape he's in/how he looks in workouts? Would be much appreciated.
paul came out 2-1 fave. I have been keeping an eye on the line since it been out. The site that you got the odds is wacked.
the line has been out for a month...have u been tracking it for a month or since ur book opened betting 4 it? A lot of books open of lines for boxing events 1 month+ b4 they happen.
This fight is so hard to call because of Winky's extended lay off. And he's like 37. At that age, you could see a lot of different things from Winkyon Saturday. If he's anything close to his former self, i say Winky UD, possibly comfortably. But we just don't know. I'm probably going to put down a little money on Winky just because he's one of my favs.
bodog has Winky at +160 now, after opening the line on him a couple days ago at +175. The "decision" prop should be up any time now, I'm refreshing every hour. If that prop is around +300 or even a bit less for Winky, I might take it. Any updates from other books?
