At middleweight pavlik and abraham cuz both have knockout power. I dont know if williams can take their power shot so i give them a good chance of beating P.Will.

    Mayweather
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Abraham
    Dawson
    Jermain Taylor
    Margarito (?) maybe

I don't think he's all that power (although very fun to watch) he has lost before and I don't doubt it will happen again.

There are a couple of welterweights that stand a legit chance ... and the crazy thing about is, I don't think his chin has been tested yet and his defense isn't always there.
He's looked flat at times and has been reduced to brawling.

Sharmba Mitchell landed some good shots against him, so did Mythesse, Wright, Quintana ... now I'm sure he wouldve been in some hot water if those guys had a little bit of pop in their punches.

Shane is fast, has a good beard, and enough power to test his chin ... the biggest thing isn't to see him knocked out but see how he reacts to adversity.

Abraham has decent defense and a good left hook _ a punch that is good when fighting a southpaw and Abraham seems to explode and lunge with it putting alot of power and leverage behind it.

Cotto's left hand is lethal and while in the southpaw stance it will turn the fight into a jabbing contest and without a dominate right hand, its going to be hard to defeat Cotto. Cotto isn't bad against southpaws either ...

Mayweather, will see how Williams reacts to a fighter who's not going to let him get off ... it will determine rather Williams can adjust or just fade like he did against Quintana, add the fact that Mayweather is fast and will pay special attention to Williams' body.

Margarito finished strong against Williams and maybe he can make the neccessary adjustments the second time around.

Pavlik has no chance against Williams, Williams won't sit there in front of Pavlik like other fighters he's beat. The blue print is out on how to beat Pavlik, who lacks good footwork and athleticism. Taylor showed that if you switch up angles on Pavlik he can be frustrated and Hopkins shown how to execute that to damn near perfection.

I think he can be beaten at Welterweight !!

all those fighters would make good sense but off course natural bigger guys like dawson would destroy him but one thing that is impressive is williams work rate and has a descent chin so far not that im a williams fan but i definitly think cotto is a good choice cuz he can intelligently box his way in to bang that long body like mosely said people underestimate cotto boxing ability

Its not about the weight drain because Williams seems to be able to handle it ... but I seen something in the Quintana fight that showed me something about Williams and that if he can't find a target, he doesn't make good adjustments. He knows how to turn up the heat when he's ahead, but when its about someone slipping and moving out the way and countering, he gets flustered.

So you're telling us that Williams can execute BHop's fight plan including some of the best footwork I've seen in years? Bull****! Williams is open to right hands all night, and his habit of carrying his right hand low leaves him open to a sharp/stiff jab. He's also very hittable with left hooks. The equation is simple. Open to rights + open to jab + open to long left hooks = a career threatening beating. But hey, it would be exciting as hell for 5 rounds.

Pavlik hasn't fought a fighter with the punch output that Williams has and he seems to be the same as a middleweight than he is as a welterweight. Pavlik is kinda gumpy and kinda gangly when it comes to his movement and punch control.

Paul Williams has great footwork and agility ... Hopkins isn't the only fighter in the world who can move like that.

To be honest, all of Pavliks opponents stood in front of him and didn't try to outbox him. Hopkins showed that if you moved and countered that you can frustrate him and beat him ... any fighter not just him.

I think Williams takes that fight in 12 or a stoppage on cuts ...

Right hands won be effective if Pavlik can't side step and punch or punch effectively while putting pressure on ... Williams knows how to side step, pivot and back pedal ... this guy has the right movements to handle it.

I understand your thinking, but first let me point out that predicting a stoppage on cuts is plain ******ed. KP has had one cut n his career, and it only neede 4 stiches.

Now, before you tell me that Paul can emulate Bernard's footwork, tell me what Beranrd did, in detail.

Lets see how he does against a real power punching middleweight. He takes a lot of shots, and his busy style wont work if he gets tagged by a big guy with real power.

Call me crazy but i think the up and coming Kirkland, Angulo, and even Sergio Martinez can give PW problems. I had a tough time thinking about who can get in there and give PW serious problems.

It would be like a Trinidad vs Wright scenario ... Pavlik would be swining at air (if he's swinging at all, he seem to have got discouraged against Hopkins) and walking into punches.
