Isn't it Dzindiruks team who doesn't want the fight?

PW is a A level fighter. He will cause alot of problems for the elite level of competetion. IMO he's legit.

The difference is, Margarito STILL beat top ranked fighters. He did it the hard way to get the big fights. Williams has 2 wins vs,. top WW's, ONE vs, a top 154 and none vs. 160 top guys.

Don't you think Williams should pay his dues as well? :huh

Pretty hard when 3 of the top 5 WWs are promoted by Arum.

No. Not even a week after Williams beat Phillips, his trainer George Petersen told someone that Goosen had told him that negotiations for a Dzindziruk fight had come and gone and they had turned them down. Goosen did not confirm these statements and how all that could go down a few days removed out of Williams last fight is beyond me. In response, Universum came out like the next day and said it was not true, that Sergiy very much wants to fight him and that they haven't even started negotiations yet. Dzindziruk has continued to call out Williams in the press since then and nothing more from the Williams camp has come about the potential fight. Instead, all we get are rumors about a potential match up with Winky Wright now, who for some inexplicable reason, people think he can take out now. IMO, Winky would have to be completely shot and not even a recognizable version of himself for that to happen.

He recently handed Margarito a career high payday for a rematch and last time I checked Margarito is rated as the #1 Welterweight and this is a guy he already beat and is giving a chance to avenge a defeat he(Margarito) considers a robbery. It's not his problem it was turned down for half the price, all he can do is move on as Arum already stated he WON'T deal with Williams anymore after the Pavlik negotiations didn't go well.

    I agree to that.

It's just annoying when someone says quitana outclassed and dominated Williams.

    Uhm.. No.

With the way HBO is cracking down on bad fights, do you think they possibly rejected it?

Williams will easily beat Margarito again and Tony knows it.

If they did, I haven't heard anything about it. I don't think it'd be a bad fight but it definitely wouldn't make it past BAD (no pun intended).

I take the whole "no more bad fights on HBO" thing with a grain of salt. I mean, WTF is Dawson-Tarver II?

Most agreed. Not only that, but the "Quintana has his number" talk was epidemic. The vast majority tried to make it seem insane that Williams had any chance in the rematch.

Lance, assuming his team is serious about the possibility of campaigning at 160, who would you think would be a good opponent for Williams? I thought the V. Phillips matchup was a good matchup for him at 154. I'm not sure who I'd put him in with at 160 though.

I think with Pavlik and Abraham likely moving up in a year or two that Williams could be the man at middleweight since the division seems thin when you look past both Pavlik and AA.
