Paulie Malignaggi afraid to leave the USA and fight in Ukraine

Paulie knows he cannot produce a KO at a decent level at 147.He is also probably aware that he is unlikely to completely dominate anyone at 147,so given the way the judging has been going in mainland Europe,and the fact the home fighter's promoters are willing to pay so much for a fight that is unlikely to be box office gold,I understand his reservations.He would be going as basically,a journeyman opponent,and despite what everyone or anyone thinks,he probably feels he's above that.
I just can't see a fighter like Paulie getting anywhere on mainland Europe,but I do understand why some people question this too.I just disagree.
Rocky Balboa got a KO over there,but he needed 15 rounds.Maybe Paulie should go for the "spartan" training and his power might improve.The Stallion pulled some serious moves in training.

It is usually four neutral offcials in Europe. Especially in the smaller boxing countries. Germany and Britain have put one of their own offcials in some times, but it is a long time ago I have seen that. And almost only in WBO World title fights.

I have seeing it in some IBF-fights as well, but only if the opponent boxer had an offcial from his country as well.

The power the US comissions have in the matter of selecting judges have always suprised me. We often see all american offcials there. No matter where the boxers are from.

 

Since Malinaggi accepted that the fight would go to pursebid he damn well knew there was a chance he'd have to travel.

Malinaggi is a douchebag if he doesn't want to go. Simple as that.

atleast Malignaggi has fought some of the best. Who the hell has Senchenko fought? lol noone. he is nothing but a paper champion who doesnt leave home. It has nothing to do with where they are from it has to do with competition.

 

I can understand that part of the argument. But all this other stuff is garbage.

Skillful,fast and a complete warrior with a huge heart who just happened to not be blessed with a powerful punch.

Not your post, man. The rest of this poorly stuff about a guy like Malagnaggi being a ***** or having no balls etc.

Does anyone think he is afraid of Senchenko? After having been in the ring with Cotto, Hatton, Khan, etc.? Having fought in Europe and Canada and being at a distinct power disadvantage in basically every single fight, having screws put in and multiple surgeries on his hands. If the guy has proved one thing, it is that he has heart.

So he doesn't want to be relegated to a professional opponent in a fight that smells like it.

If I were him, I'd take the fight, but the fact that he is reluctant to take is indicative of nothing other than the fact that he thinks he may have better options.

I agree with the idea that he must have known that with the purse bid, there was a chance that the fight could end up somewhere unfavorable. Is the fight off?

 

Also remember what happened to Paulie when he when to went and fought the house fighter in his own back yard against Juan Diaz.
