But seriously. I can understand the need for a guy like Malignaggi to have to travel outside the US at this point in his career. Some guys, Cunningham, for example, have to travel to where the fights are. Big names, or guys with other options do not.

Fact of the matter is......the US is still the epicenter, whether you guys accept that or not. You can fight exclusively in the US and not get stuck with the regional tag. Until you can say that about other countries, there really is no argument.

 

I believe there is some truth to this. Personally, I don't see what he has to lose(except the fight) by going to Ukraine to fight Senchenko. If he wins, he has some pretty good bargaining power. If he loses? So what. He is not going to fall much further down the food chain. He could lose another dodgy decision and still parlay that into another go. I don't get it.
