Paulie Malignaggi: I've fought two elite fighters, Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan

    Paulie Malignaggi Quotes:

"I've fought two elite fighters, Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan," Malignaggi said. "From here, I'm not sure where I go. I'll sit down with my team. I don't want to be a punching bag."

I'm not suprised he didn't mention Hatton. Paulie was the worst version of himself and a lot of people could agree with that.

    Roach Quotes:

Khan's trainer, Freddie Roach, said he'd like the WBA junior welterweight champion to meet Argentine Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KOs). "Amir wouldn't lose a round," Freddie said.

NEW YORK -- Every time Paulie Malignaggi has stepped up to take on an A-level pugilist, he has been knocked down a peg.

Fight fans didn't know whether Amir Khan was an A-level talent coming into the main event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. But after a couple rounds of taking in Khan's considerable power, hand speed, work rate and beyond-his-years poise, everyone watching had to be of the same mind: Khan, who nabbed a technical knockout in the 11th round, is indeed a top-level fighter and would be a steep challenge for anyone in the 140-pound class.

After seeing round after round of Khan's blows landing solidly, ref Steve Smoger stepped in and halted the one-sided tussle. Malignaggi was the loser and his dreams of a showdown with Manny Pacquiao look to be shelved for now. The end officially came at 1:25 of the 11th, but unofficially it was over in the first, when Malignaggi came out flat and Khan looked sharp and heavy-handed.

Khan is too green for Bradley And Alexander and I wouldn't put in with them for at least a year.

    Interesting read.

    Your thoughts?

Of all three, I think Alexander is the most dangerous fighter for Khan. Bradley is the least since he does not have KO power.

For Paulie not mentioning Hatton. I am not surprise. Paulie has the least respect for brawlers like Hatton and admire slick boxers like PBF and Pea. That is what he models his style to.

Bradley is better than Khan, doesn't matter if he doesn't have KO power. He does have respectable power.

While iam a supporter of kahn, as some have said, last night didnt tell us anything, what he done, he done very very well, though for me it was a slightly one dimential performance.
He has inproved a lot since moving to roach.
    He has potential.
Just for us british fans, who have seen his career, it wasnt a supprise performance as such.
We know he can fight that well.
A great performance for me would have been him stopping pauli on merrit, and not through lack of return action from pauli.
He also still has some traits from his amature days.
Though under roach i have no doubt he can reach his full potential and go on to be a great in the sport.
He is after all only 23.
Lots of time for him to develope further, and gain excperiance.
If i were running his career, i wouldnt want to step him up to far above fighters such as pauli at this moment in time.

Paulie had a lot of trouble with Khan's reach and finding the correct range; his left hook and right hand were often a few inches short while Khan was able to land consistently since Paulie chose to fight outside and got pushed down/tied up on the inside. HAVE YOU SEEN DEVON ALEXANDER'S INSIDE GAME? He would eat this kid for breakfast...

It's no accident that Khan wants Alexander & Bradley to take each other on while he takes Maidana next...

If he's elite let him fight the best.he fought a known featherfisted fighter for a reason.

If I'm Khan I'd rather take my chances w/either Alexander or Ortiz than Maidana.
Maidana only knows one way and that's search & destroy.
(Not good for fighters who have "Suspect Chin")

I'd push for Bradley/Maidana & take whoever is left on the list...
    (Not named Maidana)

Bradley is feather fisted and also a midget - good matchup for Khan

Maidana is heavy handed, yet not that great of boxer - winnable fight for Khan

Alexander is slick, fast, great boxer, and has pop on his punches - nighty night for Khan

Agreed that Alexander is the most dangerous fight at 140.
