...taking on Hungarian journeyman Laszlo Fazekas, who's just 5 losses or draw shy of a .500 record. :!:

This will be Malignaggi's debut in his parents' native Italy.

Whispers are that Malignaggi is looking to retire on a W, returning to his roots adding something of a sentimental touch for his swansong. Otherwise there would seem on the surface to be very little point to a match with Fazekas, who is unrated by any org and will yield no credit whatsoever for Malignaggi bar the unlikely event that he stops Fazekas (which has only happened twice in 50 bouts)

After this he will likely embrace a full-time role as television commentator, and pursue acting roles with more frequency.

I guess I'm ok with this... I hope the rumors are true and he does retire after this. :good

But you know.... It wouldn't shock me if a good performance gets to his head and he decides to carry on.

He was sounding very negative after the loss to Garcia, and very close to announcing his retirement then and there. I was actually shocked to learn he was even making one last appearance...but when you stop and think about it, Fazekas is as safe a bet as there is to exit on a high note.

Just strange he's doing this in Milan and not his ancestral Sicily, if he's going to bother going all the way to Italy for his big Ciao. :think

He should really test himself and move up and take on Cedric Vitu or Fiordigiglio.:!:

Perhaps, but they'd also get the living **** beat out of them and stopped by old feather fists.

Most people really have no conecpt how far these guys are from regular people in terms of boxing ability, even the feather fisted ones.

If he was fighting Di Rocco, it would actually be worth tuning in to see Paulie getting beaten up.

Paulie is no son of Rome! :bbb

No, he's 2nd generation Sicilian, which according to many natives of both the mainland and island makes him barely even Italian!

He is Sicilian, which is different than Italian. Different history, very different language or at least much different dialect.

Exactly. Even marginal professional boxers will put a world of hurt on a regular person.
