You really don't trust yourself to disagree with bad commentary? I think I'm too much of a contrarian to let Jim Lampley or someone overpower my own eyes and analysis, no matter how confident and insistent they are in their horrible takes.

The thing is it's just... there. In the back of your mind, trying to influence you. It's distracting and annoying.

Like was just said....unless you are intentionally blocking it out it is there. I scored Fury Wilder with the volume down fight night and scored a draw, rewatched the next day with sound and was amazed at Paulies narrative....but since he is so educational I won’t say much more about him.

Plus half the time when I'm watching it live, I'm sleep depreived and half drunk. More prone to being influenced.

Fortunately I don’t drink, except for coffee 24/7 but I am sure the combination of caffeine and adhd don’t help me to process two or three things....I need to be singularly focused, intellectually stimulated and emotionally engaged or I go.....squirrel

It must be noted that Paulie couldn't punch either.

I would agree but his performance against Cotto was one of the gutsiest performances I have seen, so I kind of give him a pass on that lol

Ya well boxing was different back then and boxers were more active.. If you are scheduled for a 15, or 20 rounder or better yet a 45 rounder. A lot more infighting and wanting to save gas in tank as much as possible with more economical movement.. You are a fighter of your times .. In general, of course boxing is going to look different. The coddled fighters of today are brought a long to fight a couple times a year 12 rounders. The overall toughness of the sport as opposed to back in the day has been sucked right out of it...

Opposite for me. I live in the squirrel internally. Mind in a dozen directions at once. Booze focuses. Simplifies. Makes me talk. And write.

The only draw back is when you post your booze addled opinions on this forum.

I’ve awoken with a thumping hangover logged on here only to find 15 notifications to a post I’ve made and having zero recollection of what I posted to warrant such a response.

Luckily drunk me is pretty much in accord with sober me on most things boxing. Although he’s less diplomatic and much worse at spelling.

    Drunk posting beats drinking alone.

Right thats the truth! Pauli was tough, pretty quick but his downfall at the top was that he didn't have enough power to keep them at bay. Unlike Mayweather who punches hard enough you have to respect it can't just walk through em!
