Paulie Malignaggi vs. Victor Ortiz would be a good matchup for next year.

if Malignaggi can beat Ortiz, then he's probably ready to take on Marquez, Alvarado, Khan or Hatton.

On the other hand, if Ortiz does win, he would be a good choice to go up against Urango, Marquez, Torres, and a rematch with Maidana.

Both Boxers improve from their previous bouts which does make this matchup entertaining enough for the fans.

What do you have to say?

Ortiz might have the power to hurt paulie...I find the ortiz stance a bit odd....it has shown to be effective, he hunches over too much, and ortiz is not an elusive fighter, he can be hit on a regular bases...paulie is hittable too, but he is faster with his hands, feet, and more elusive then ortiz....

    I'm a pulie fan, but it's a pick'em fight...

I rather see ortiz vs alvarado...then we can talk paulie vs ortiz...

or go find naoufel ben rabah to fight ortiz....he is a slickster very simlar to paulie....that would tell me a lot about ortiz vs paulie...

Paulie, already 29, how many more fights does he really have? He wants to fight Marquez next which tells me that he wants to fight big name fighters as soon as possible. Malignaggi only has probably 3 more years in boxing, around 5 to 6 more fights in him.

The 140lbs. division is full of talent, he could randomly chose anyone of them to fight. If he could beat Ortiz, then he's ready to fight Marquez.

I think paulie fights alexander or urango next...I think based on the IBF rankings paulie now the top contender for urango's belt....

If ortiz gets into a technical fight with paulie, he will lose....will somebody tell ortiz to throw more jabs....maidana ate him up because ortiz could not keep him off...he hardly throws jabs....as i said before I could see ortiz landing and hurting paulie...maybe getting a decision...

malignaggi did have power in his early fights if you watch his fights there was some meat behind those punches he landed nothing major but alot more than he has now, but his hand is so fragile i think if paulie actually threw a hard shot his hand would break. he breaks his hand in almost every 2-3 fights so he kinda needs to be light on the punches or he would of had to retire in his early days.

paulie is a good fighter, if he did have good ko power he would be at the top top level fighters.

Paulie is sharp and he would exploit some of Ortiz' loose defense. I think it would be close decision though.

The better fight would be Khan and Paulie.

I think once Ortiz realizes Paulie can't seriously hurt him he'll bully Paulie, press the action and brutally KO him. I'd love to see this fight.

The venue and judge should be fair for both, since Paulie will likely bring it up again. Paulie would prefer the fight to be held in Madison Square, while Victor would prefer the fight in Staples Center. The fight will likely be in MGM, Caesar, Mandalay Bay Las Vegas.

Paulie Malignaggi should be ready to fight Victor Ortiz since he has fought a similar fighter in Juan Diaz. Paulie and Victor have a good chin. Victor has face strong competition before, he has what it takes to fight.

Paulie's hand speed, footwork, and lateral movements going against Victor's power punches inside and body punches is what to be expected in this fight. Good matchup for the fans.

It's either Malignaggi by decission or Ortiz via stoppage. 50/50 for me.

Paullie doesn't have the power to stop or hurt Ortiz so Ortiz will be raining him with punches while he back pedal.

    I'll pick Ortiz.

I have to agree with this post here. Once Paulie tastes Ortiz power he will just clinch all night to avoid being stopped like he did against Cotto and Hatton.

Ortiz would win, Paulie doesn't have the pop. This would be a great fight for Ortiz, GBP should try to make this fight.
