Thats what annoyed me. I'd never claim that Hatton would have won but for Cortez but you should be able to expect a little consistancy from a ref.

you know....as much of a pain in the ass Paulie is, I do really enjoy his boxing analysis. If you've read his past interviews, you will see that he is quite knowledgable and more often than not makes a lot of sense.

outside of talking about himself, he doesnt seem to show any bias at all.

Well, he may be right, but almost everytime a fighter gets beat by someone they say that "so and so has a good shot against so and so.."

    It goes either way.

You'd want to admit you lost to the best in the world, not some bum.

Then again he's usually spot on in his predictions.

Cotto and Mosley 147 below are the only ones who can cause Mayweather trouble and have some chance of winning, Mayweather starts clear favourite aginst both though.

It's 100% illegal. But does Floyd have a reputation (as Ricky did for hitting and holding) as Ricky did? No, because Floyd was able to do it when the Ref was on the other side or unable to see.

Doesn't make it more right, but going into the fight, Ricky's "hitting and holding" tactic was very much an issue. And Cortez wasn't gonna have any of it.

Now, if Ricky could SOMEHOW (which he can't, because its damn near impossible) to hide his hitting and holding - then yes, he woulda got away with it.

I find it funny that people think Ricky should have been allowed to fight illegally.

You should at least be given the opportunity to work out of a clinch. Cortez was breaking the fighters before the clinch on many occasions.

I disagree, I don't think Floyd would be able to cope with Paulie's power, I mean the mans KO percentage is astonishing.

Paulie KO1 Money May @ both 140 and 147 tbh. And 104 like you suggested, although I'm not sure they could make straw-weight.

They definitely could make 104. We'll staple their stomachs.

that is bull****. first of all, Hatton is Golden Boy's fighter. secondly, they both have reputations for being dirty on the inside, but floyd was smarter with his. he used his forearms mostly out of the view of the ref ala bernard hopkins and hatton was blatant with his holding. personally, i found it to be almost genius the way he would bend and angle his body so that when hatton lundged forward to punch, he would end up literally on top of floyd and leave cortez no choice but to break them. he used his agression against him. besides, there were stretches where hatton had floyd in the corner, roughing him up and cortez didn't break them, but hatton couldnt get any work in due to floyds defensive posture. as far as the point deduction, floyd bent and turned away, but hatton pushed his head down with the left and came over the top with the right hand. it was blatant and in plain view. i've seen this fight about a hundred times and yes cortez was a little jumpy, but the ref was about 5 percent of hattons problem, the rest was all floyd.

The only way we ever find out if this is true is if Cotto and Mayweather win there next fights and end up fighting each other. I think if anyone can beat Mayweather, it would be Cotto.

He didn't say Cotto would beat Floyd he say he would give Floyd a real test .
