its pretty obviuos that paulie wasnt the same after that night, that wasnt the same paulie pre cotto fight is pretty obvious, hatton shouldnr get that much credit bc cotto did the hard work and paulie was ruined after that fight all hatton did was beat up a beaten fighter ,, it reminds me of how odlh ko vargas after tito ruined him

Come on man! Paulie won a belt at 140 after he lost to Cotto. If he was done he wouldn't have done that.:deal

He was the same,Hatton really is that good and Cotto would have stopped him himself if not weight drained

I would say Hatton beat a better version, Malignaggi was essentially the IBF champion going into the fight, so he had a champions confidence. Definately one of Rickys top 3 wins.

Yeah, but he looked good in subsequent Cotto outings against Edner Cherry and N'dou I. Perhaps it was a residual effect as he wasn't right against Ngoudjo or N'dou II. He did very well in his a career for such a modest puncher. He made $1M last night and if he's recycled right he may have a few more paydays in him.:smoke:smoke

Yes. Leftovers. That's all British fighters ever face. **** off. Malignaggi talked a big game but failed to deliver. Hatton did fight a good fight but Malignaggi let himself and his fans down with his performance.

That's bull****. What you saw was a guy who lost both times he stepped up in class. Like Paulie said, he couldn't account for the way Ricky fights, he couldn't figure out his movement.

That has nothing to do with Cotto. Cotto if anything helped Paulie out, that was a fight he was thought to have been a sacrificial lamb for, and he came out looking better because of the loss, not worse. It made him think he "could" belong at the top, that he took the best Cotto had, and still took some rounds off him.

Cotto didn't ruin Paulie. It's just Paulie is what he is. Larry Merchant said it best last night when he came back at Harold, Paulie was just stepping up in class, and it's easier to throw 6 punch combos against guys who don't counter and fight back.

Hatton beat a better version of Malignaggi, a Malignaggi with the confidence and experience of a beltholder. The 2006 Malignaggi was green and had never fought at elite level.

That statement is crap, i can just as easily say Paulie won more rounds verse Cotto than versus Hatton. Why not give credit where credit's due instead of hating.

I hope Paulie comes back and gets better. Hopefully hires a better trainer. As much as he is a boxer, he is a warrior. The guy was seriously pissed his trainer stopped the fight, whether you agree or disagree with the stoppage, you got to admire a guy who wants to finish a fight even when he's taking a beating. As for Hatton good win, hopefully he gets Pacman and they put on a show.
