I don't think so. He might have made his opponents respect him a bit more, but we're talking about a guy who made his name for taking a beating by Cotto. He was outboxed by Hatton.
decent skills, iron chin, not much else. extremely easy to hit got outclassed by hatton and landed about two jabs the whole fight. hatton landed the jab at will... thats all you need to know about paulie. paulies best performances are the juan diaz fights, and getting beaten up by cotto, hatton and khan.
Poor Paulie's just a stepping stone for the up and comers now.His best days are well behind and it's just a cash grab for retirement purposes now.
he definetly would have been better. As he would have more confidence in the ring. But the guy got outboxed by Khan and Hatton! barely landing anythin on each so he's not as good a boxer as you think
He has very overratted skills. He pulls straight back constantly with his chin in the air. He is fast and athletic, but not super skilled.
