Paulie won but should have a fight or two before fighting Hatton or Witter

based on the weak showing, that defenitely bumps up Malinaggi as a possible Hatton opponent for sure. Too bad for Witter.

How can you overlook anyone when you are not an elite, and are still trying achieve and prove something in the sport?

Yeah, he needs to fight N'dou or somebody of that caliber to get an impressive win. After that, he can move onto Hatton or Witter (even though both likely beat him).

yeah exactly, we all know that's Hatton's way.
Looks like Pualie was always overrated....who has he beat? A shot N'Dou and that's it. He lost convincingly to a weight drained Cotto.

I like Paulie but Witter would take his head off. Actually, maybe not. Witter UD.
Witter would take Hatton's head off.

Witter would beat Paulie convincingly, or by TKO like what he did to Harris. And Witter is 33 years old and still fighting at the top of his game, I don't see him aging soon. Paulie should fight Witter, but I have a feeling that Hatton will be calling him out after this performance.

I believe Malignaggi has a legit chance to beat Witter if he comes in in good form but not against Hatton. Hatton will eat him alive no matter what.

A fight or two wouldn't help Malignaggi as he will always have problem with pressure type fighters coming at him as he can't make them respect his power. The biggest difference between N'dou and Ngoudjo was Ngoudjo's better handspeed and pressure. That's all and look at the difference. Look at the Cotto fights. It will happen all the time. Slower boxers will be outboxed 120-108 and quicker pressure type boxers or any boxer with decent skills speed and power will giv Magic Man problems. If you can't make Witter or Hatton respect your power, you could find yourself in a very dangerous situation.

I don't see yesterday's fight a bad night for Paulie at all. I see that coming from the lack of punching power. I see a lot of people talking about the non-existing punching power of Juan Diaz and Malignaggi if it was the same thing. However there's a big difference. Diaz is mixing his punches very well lately, throwing some lighter quick leads then some big shots, mixing it to the body and head and breaking down the opponents with BOTH speed shots and carefully selected power shots.

In Paulie’s case, I don't see him landing any cracking blows. His hand injury history is another sad story and Paulie is just isn’t relying in his power as he doesn’t have confidence in it. Maybe that’s the better strategy but it is very clear to me that opposite of Diaz who in a round or two makes his opponents respect his power Paulie can’t or just won’t do that and that could turn out to be a problem against EVERY fighter with better than average skills, good pressure and pretty good hand speed as Ngoudjo's. And both Witter and Hatton could give huge problems to Malignaggi as well as Torres because no matter how hard you box, you don’t have the chance for the knockout while your opponent can do that or put on enough pressure to make the rounds closer than is should be. I like Paulie and his style but I don’t see his skills and speed alone winning a fight against Ricky or Junior. He’s got better chance against Torres as Ricardo is giving a hell lot of counterpunching opportunities but he too wouldn’t respect Paulie’s power to get off his ass. I see a lot of hard earned victories coming which would be clear knockouts if Malignaggi would have a better punching power and would rely on that more.

Ngoudjo was as underrated as a fighter as Joshua Clottey but this fight still shouldn't have been this close. Why it was close is the problem what Mallignaggi will have to face each time he steps in the ring against competition on the level of Herman or better.

That fight was a Joke. How many times is Herman going to get robbed??!!??

I mean, this was such a blatant robbery it's not even funny.

Any insomniacs out there, tune into Malignaggi Vs Witter.

Hatton would eat Malignaggi, he ain't in Hatton's league and he ain't got the pop to stop Hatton coming at him.

If one of the fighters have to put down hard cash on the table it will be Hatton and the fight will be in M.E.N.

25.000 paying fans. Hatton needs a fight at home and his fans deserve a cheaper night than a L.V./N.Y. fight ticket + 1/2 flights + hotels and everything.
