Round 10 Ambunda is walking forward, guard up, getting hooked above the lettering of the article in his ring name ("The Rock"). Kameda isn't sitting down on the hooks but is whipping them in pretty lustily even while gliding back. Another interruption because of tape on Kameda's glove. Ambunda mills impatiently in a neutral corner, shifting his weight between legs. Time in. Kameda shuffles very smoothly around the champion, never crossing himself up, with long strides. Ambunda is jabbing up at Kameda's face but lacking zip on the jab, and keeping the left very low after throwing. Ambunda looks arm weary, but still puts on the pressure, by his mere oncoming presence making Kameda stay alert, wary of that right hand. 10-9 Kameda 97-93 Kameda
Really they could have kindergarteners make some paste of flour and water and it would hold better than Kameda's glove tape. :!:
Round 11 Ambunda is showing little originality, still coming forward with the guard up as Kameda begins to get into a groove, throwing fast 1-2-1-2 combos stepping in and then hooks to cover his exit. Kameda is finding a way to get through or around the guard of Ambunda consistently. Ambunda is able to dig in a few rights downstairs but Kameda is out-landing him by a wide margin with his combinations to the front and sides of Ambunda's skull. Kameda is mixing in a few poke-jabs under the elbows of Ambunda for good measure, and maybe to get him to drop the guard and make his work easier. 10-9 Kameda 107-102 Kameda
Early on this had the look of being really competitive. :verysad Not that Ambunda has looked terrible or anything; he just didn't have a plan B and Tomoki figured out A pretty quickly.
Round 12 Ambunda is jabbing up at Kameda's hairline and getting tickled by Kameda's counter left jabs while circling. Looping overhand rights and left hooks by Ambunda pressing in, finally changing tacks a bit. Kameda reacts calmly, still placing his feet carefully and staying in a defensive posture. Jabs by Kameda, circling warily. Ambunda walks into a grazing left hook on the crown, stumbles off balance, and falls to his knees. Ruled a slip...again. 10-9 Kameda 117-111 Kameda
Kameda was pretty negative in the 12th and didn't really do much offensively (unless you believe that was a KD) so I could see giving it to Ambunda despite his low connect % just for ring generalship and some of his bombs nicking Kameda...but that is still comfortably 116-112 to Kameda. ...and I gave at least one close round to Ambunda. (the 5th, which along with the 12th constitute the only real "swing" rounds IMO)
They announce Kameda as "the new!!!!" - did they read the scores? :huh Stupid headphones. Stupid low volume. c
Got it 118-110 for Kameda. Couldn’t find a round for Ambunda in the 2nd half of the fight. Great boxing from Tomoki who just got better as the fight progressed.
