    Beautiful KO!
This should get Yordan the WBO NR 5 spot at 135.

Anyone have any idea what Yordan's next step might be? Some kind of regional trinket perhaps?

Only caught the end of it, nice body shot to finish it. Yordan has a water melon sized noggin' that I bet you could pound all night with a baseball bat.

Btw, the head of RCC Boxing - German Titov is quite amazing. This his seventh event this year.
Last year they hosted 15 events!

Especially considering that his stable has included several of the biggest Russian stars over the last several years, his commitment to mid-level and developmental talent and small hall shows is admirable. Clearly a lover of the game.

Well, coming into this Malikov was ranked #13, #8, and #6 by the WBA, IBF, and WBO respectively.

(how many times do I have to shout from the mountaintops that everybody needs to bookmark this link?? Top 15, every org, updated frequently! https://fightnews.com/rankings-2)

Presumably this "upset" will at the very least interpolate Cino in his stead in at least one if not all three, even if just the bottom few rungs of any of those ladders, he can scratch his way up from the low end of 15 and get himself inside ten in no time with another similar type of victory. I think his greatest opportunity happens to coincide fortuitously with the highest ranking previously held by Malikov - going the WBO route. If he can maneuver himself to becoming Beltrán's mandatory there's a very good chance this deserving yeoman can finally sniff gold. I love me a little Sugar Ray but he is by far the weakest lightweight title holder at present. Yordan isn't beating Mikey, Linares, or probably even REJ in his wildest dreams. Yordan vs. Beltrán, however, is a damn near 50-50 proposition.

hes a great defender probably because no one wants to go up for aerial challenges with him in fear of getting knocked out cold.

He was talking about fightign for a world title fight years ago, was calling out Burns among others back then...so I suspect he'll continue to chase a shot at the top

Whoa, hold up - I missed that Yordan was actually ranked 6th already by the WBA. Now, "punching down" as it were (number six beating number thirteen) shouldn't elevate him too much, if any but it could nudge him into the five spot. I really hope Yordan isn't foolish enough to go tilting at that particular windmill. Linares and Lomachenko (depending on which is wearing that belt in a few weeks) both do nasty jobs on Yordan.

Please do the smart thing, Cino, and just wait a little bit longer and go for the lower-hanging fruit of the WBO. I'd love to see you put a strap around your waist as the culmination of your career, as much as I'd hate to see you demolished by an elite.
