Pavel Malikov vs. Daud Yordan & Zaur Abdullaev vs. Deiner Berrio RBR.

There are very few names across the major 4's top 15 that I think are so daunting you couldn't give Yordan a reasonable chance at beating them. Pretty much all contenders ranked by the WBO, and the IBF - nobody that sticks out that he definitely couldn't beat, on a given night. I think Luke Campbell is a big ask, though, and he's WBC #2 and WBA #3. Yvan Mendy would have Yordan dizzier than a kid on his tenth consecutive Tilt-A-Whirl ride and puking up a corn dog after boxing circles around him all night, as well.

 

Oh wow, Denis Bakhtov was buried on the undercard apparently, getting taken out in 2 minutes flat. I'm not sure I realized he ever fought on after Joshua (now 1-3 since). He really should retire.

Eh, he's up there...now 38 years old and hasn't been competitive with anybody relevant in eight years (unless you consider a 2014 Konstantin Airich or 2012 Danny Williams "relevant") - taking 8 wide points disparity and/or stoppage losses in as many years.

 

He exposed Gjergjaj as well.

 

Eh...kind of a stretch to call Gjergjaj relevant. Even if Bakhtov had gotten the nod in that one I'd place it behind the Airich win.

 

Relevant on that scene padded record or not. and fair enough, that was JUST before Airich became completely useless and still had some form at European level if I'm not mistaken.

 

Yeah, he still had that vaguely unpredictable glass cannon vibe, before he devolved into rock-'em-sock-'em "first mini-boss in a video game, on easy mode" self-parody. On that 4-year downward spiral he's now 2-10 and both victories were over the same guy, novice Robert Filipović.

 

a year and seventh months since he last stepped in the ring. Hopefully he's decided to call it a day.

I just caught it on replay on Матч Боец. It was ****ing ugly lol he got put down twice in the first round and then got stopped about 20 seconds too late in my opinion.

 

There were talks of Yordan vs Campbell for this February. Heres to hoping that its a fight that could happen.

 

Abdullaev and Alexeev could both win world titles, both are young and good.
