He's a little overhyped but thats too be expected. He's still a work in progress and I hope he'll clear out the 160lbs division. Although I doubt Sturm will ever face him.
As for Calzaghe-I don't think there careers will ever overlap.

That's what makes Pavlik so likeable.. it's all about the intangibles.. he has good skills; not exceptional, good power; not exceptional etc. etc. he just has the will and toughness to win, no quantifiable indicators of his ability to beat another man, just the intangible will to win. That's why people rate him. Get over it.

You don't even know how to spell his name, yet you know he's overrated.

    :yep

As far as Pavlik vs Calzaghe? You better watch what you wish for...

Like I've said before, that fight would go like this:

Slap, slap, slap & then BOOM! And your boy would be on his arse!

Good power? 90+ KO rate. He is an extremely tall and rangy MW, who throws straight, down the barrel punches with pop. Apparently a pretty good formula for beating his opponents.
    Also, his name is Pavlik.

Not to mention he is white so of course its gonna cause more Excitement that Americans have a top p4p White American fighter.

But yes he is exciting and i like him but he is getting too much credit in my opinion.

I think Pavlick is staying at middle. Calzaghe or Kessler would be a bit much at the moment. A rematch with Taylor and a fight next year against AA should keep him occupied.

Give the guy a chance his career in the big time is just beginning. So, he lost every round, but who wound up KTFO?
However, I must say, unless he tightens up the defense, he won't be at the top long.

what did HBO pay you to judge the fight as well? very few people will agree with you. I had taylor winning 2 rounds and 1 even, the rest for The Ghost.

with all of that bein said, doesnt matter. end result

    Pavlik KO Taylor rd 7

Right so any fighter with size and power can become the middlweight champion of the world.

Your forgetting that it takes skill to utilize size and power.

Who gives a **** how many rounds he lost. He is a come from behind fighter.

Do you care how many innings a baseball team loses if the final result is a win? I think not.

Some fighters wear you down over the long haul, and they know that if they stay in the fight that they will eventualy get you out of there.

Cotto loses rounds as well, but more often than not he KTFO's his opponents.

That's right b/c Jermain Taylor & Edison Miranda were such small MW. I guess that's why they both decided to move up in weight.

Not seeing a problem w/ that. 3 years = 5 - 6 fights @ $1,000,000+ per fight... I could only dream that my short term future looked that pretty. And you know he's going to KTFO of whoever he fights, so he'll go down as the next Gatti.
