Posted under April fools joke thread, but didn't seem to draw interest in that context. So.......

Personally, I thought he would stay at 160 too long, but it looks like Joe and Kelly both want this fight.:happy

Huge fight!! And I'm glad to see he's willing. Certainly Calzaghe's the favorite, but I'll stand by Pavlik:good

Love the last quote, if Pavlik takes out Abraham and Winky he's got quote the immpressive resume and will have cleaned out 160.

Good! Because pavlik/winky needs to happen, and winky's scalp will look real good hangin' from that big green belt!

Gotta love this true blue midwestern kid. His since of humor is humbling.
I bet he really had people going in that club. Pavlik is hard to root against. You almost never want to see him lose, but if he fights calzaghe that's exactly what'll happen.

Wright is about the worst fight Pavlik could take. If I were his manager I would keep him away from Wright.

Calzaghe will retire soon, he will fight Hopkins, then one more fight.

Wright won't go the distance against Pavlik.

Pavlik walks through Wright, but not through Calzaghe. I would honestly avoid this fight if I were Kelly -- he doesn't need it to build a solid legacy and its a terrible match-up. Wait a year and Calzaghe will be gone.

But hey, if he does take it, I'll give him a lot of props. It won't be for the money since there's easier money out there -- I would take it as a sign that he wants to beat 'the man' before he retires.

Let Pavlik and Winky fight and we see what happens from there. I wouldn't be surprised if Golden Boy comes to promote a fight with Calzaghe and Pavlik with Hopkins presenting them in the presser...

WHy do people underestimate Winky? the guy never gets knocked out firstly so throw that out of the window! and I see him countering Pavlik and winning the fight.

I'd really like to see Calzaghe-Pavlik... that's one superfight, probably THE superfight of 2008... But as Calzaghe will have his farewell fight after Hopkins - win or lose - the one fight I'd really like to see before he retires is the Roy Jones superfight at 168.

Is Pavlik a more credible opponent in 2008? Hell yeah! But! Jones was pretty good at 170 vs. Tito, he still got speed and power and both Joe and Jones could add another legend to their resume - the winner of course. I don't see Jones as a shot fighter... I thought he was shot after the Tarver fights, but vs. Tito, at 170, it seemed he still has left some of his magic...

I'd be absolutely hyped for a Calzaghe-Jones fight and I'd be very hyped for a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight. I wish we could see both but I myself would definitely like the Jones fight more...
