Great fight video. Thanks a ton for posting this. As far as the ref stoppage of the Taylor fight, Smoger (the ref) said he counted to two and then halted his count. He said Taylor was 'gone,' so he ended his count. The ring doctor who came to Taylor's corner lightly slapped him, I heard, to help him focus/regain his consciousness. At which point Taylor said something like "Did I get knocked out?" Taylor was done. And if Smoger -- of all people (he's known to let fights go on even when guys are hurt) -- stopped the fight, you know JT was finished for good.
Just to follow-up on the point about Taylor being out. Here is the first part of the post-fight press conference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLTpL29XuSw At approximately 1:00 of the video, Jermain says he 'didn't recover' from the initial right hand which Pavlik landed to start the finishing flurry. After JT says that, someone else in his camp (I think DiBella) can be heard saying in the microphone "We're not complaining about Steve Smoger at all." Taylor was out. He knew he was out, and his team knew he was out. Smoger did the only thing he could do, and saved himself counting eight more seconds by correctly waving-off the fight. Big props to Taylor for his classiness in defeat. He was both respectful to Pavlik and eager to rematch him. And right after the fight he went and congratulated Pavlik in the ring. Both guys handled themselves the way you want guys to do. Great job by all parties.
When a fighter asks if he has been knocked out, that is pretty good sign a fighter is done. Taylor was so out of it, he didnt even realize Smooger stopped the fight, much less protest the stoppage.
