He'll fight somebody sooner or later, he's just enjoying a few cool beverages during the summer.

Yeah, his only two good opponents since he won his titles were Taylor rematch and Hopkins and neither of them were title fights. It seems like top rank are trying to live of his World Champion status as long as they can without him actually fighting live contenders like a champion should.

its not his fault that the rematch with jt was a catchweight...and you know damn well bhop wasnt coming back down to 160 given his weight issues prior to moving up in the first place...

pav moved up two weight classes to fight the man many believe to be the best lhw out there. had bhop come down 15lbs to fight pav at mw and pav beat him b/c bhop was this side of dead as a result of cutting all that weight, you know there would be people hating pav b/c of that...

having said that, you say ONLY jt and bhop like they are nothing which sort of trivializes how good they are/were...who has aa fought (title on the line or not) who can compare to jt and bhop? and im not an aa hater, i like the guy...but don't act like pav hasnt fought anyone since EARNING his strap...he fought the guy he beat and he moved up two weight classes to fight a p4p top 5

oh and p.s....rubio was a MANDATORY...again, that isnt pav's fault

edit to say if you think both fighters' promoters can be shady people i agree 100% and both promoter's have more to do w/ these two fighters not meeting than the fighter's themselves. both pav and aa are warriors as was seen w/ pav/jt I and aa/miranda I

It's not Pavlik himself who is ducking AA, I'm pretty sure he would have no problem taking the fight, but Arum and other members of his team are not confortable taking this fight for the high risk of a loss.

They'd rather take a safest fight against Sturm.

I agree. Not that Sturm is a pushover, however.

He fought JT and B-hop who are both good but he hasn't fought a credible contender with a chance of beating him to defend his middleweight title since he won them. I wasn't saying ONLY JT only B-Hop, I was saying his ONLY hard fights were non-title ones, not trivialising those two.

JT, fair enough there was a rematch clause but before Pavlik faught Hopkins all the talk was of Hopkins being shot to **** when he fought Calzaghe and his stock rose considerably again when he beat Pavlik. Pavlik was heavy favourite going into that fight and was even critiscised for taking it, his fans at the time were saying it was only to get a shot at Calzaghe. It actually seemed to turn into a bigger fight after it had taken place and only because Hopkins won. It's almost 2 years since he won the Middlewight title and in that time he has fought 2 weak mandatories and 2 catchweight fights, when he does find the time to defend his titles in an optional then they talk about Mora, Strum and it would appear anyone except Abraham.

Pavlik is the man who beat the man etc but it was almost 4 years ago that Abraham fought for a vacant title, long before Pavlik was champion. No-one knows what would have happenned in the division if AA hadn't fought for that strap and fighting for it shouldn't be a death warrant to getting a shot at 'the man' which is what Pavliks fans seem to see it as.

Just quoting this to emphasise again that I am NOT suggesting either fighter is scared of the other.

If AA truly wanted Pav he would drop his paper belt and become the a #1 contender. You have to earn your shot, not just be given a title. Pav tore thru and destroyed the middles on his why to the title. AA got to fight for a title that rightfully belongs to Pav. How does that make AA a champ? What champion did AA beat? Pav by ktfo round 7 @160. Bet on it.

If JT didn't have to abandon the IBF belt to rematch Hopkins then Abraham was in line for a shot at him, so if your saying AA's title is "rightfully" Pavliks then surely AA rightfully should get a shot at Pavlik.

I actually reckon Pavlik would win on points but that is a different question.

and i respect your opinion and i also think there is no excuse for arum even attempting to make mora...there are many fights i would like to see pav in and aa for that matter but it appears there are other forces at work here (namely promotional)

    Bob Arum is the ducker.

    It certainly wasn't/Isn't Abraham.

I suspect its not Pavlik either.
