Pavlik grew up playing tackle foot ball with the older kids of the block on concrete. He grew up gettin' ass beatin's all the time from older brothers and their friends. They had their own neighborhood toughman contests all the time, Pavlik way younger than most, and they timed the rounds with a cooking timer.

I think he'll be just fine.

I still have AA on this one. Pavlik's defense is basically his offense. AA is a great counter-puncher, and will be waiting for an opporunity to land a huge hook. Most of Pavlik's straight punches will land on gloves and arms. Body shots, which Marquez had success with against AA, will be dangerous, because of Pavlik's height. I see AA winning by KO, much in the way he beat Miranda.

I respect your opinion, but disagree. Pavlik is no forkin' Miranda.

Okay -- this is way off topic, but did you ever hear the story about the time a 10 year old Kelly Pavlik attacked an entire Pee Wee football team?

He would still lose by split decision in that scenario. Or Kelly would be DQ'd for unsportsman like conduct for hitting the local too hard. As they picked AA's mouthpiece out of the rafters they would claim it was a low blow.... I leave anything out? :D

No. The **** I had written above was from a Ring Mag interview. With the "local" Toughman thing, he kept telling his parents that he'd crashed his bicycle, and they'd be out side turning it upside down to see what was wrong with the damn thing.

    Your turn.....

Well -- as my old freind and former pro wrestler Dutch Savage often says "Legend has it" ..... :yep

Supposedly Kelly's team lost a football game. Afterward the taunting and smart mouthing got to be to much for Kelly, and he ran across the field and jumped in the middle of the other team and started in kickin' ass and takin' names . . . at least as much as a 10 year old can . . . Adults had to pull Kelly out of the fray because he was intent on handin' out some ass whoopin's . . . . skinny little arms and legs flying every direction. funny story.

More to the recent. Have you watched Rubio's last fight yet? I've watched it a couple of times now. I really think it comes down to how much Rubio's chin can take. I wouldn't be surprised to see it end as quick as Lockett.

Certainly not. But AA will take the same approach: wait, wait, wait, Bang. Pavlik's a hell of a fighter, so I certainly think it's a tough call, but I just have a hunch that Pavlik's defense won't be up to the task of avoiding those bombs of AA's for all twelve rounds.

Sorry, but it comes down to this: Anyone who thinks Pavlik can score a true knock out of AA has no credibility because he simply doesn't know his **** (or is a delusional nuthugger).

To score a KO of AA he would need a dozen of clean flush powershots in a row and it's pure nuthuggery if you think AA let's him do that, way to good defence and chin. Pavlik will only get through with single shots and single shots won't do anything to him, Pavlik is not heavy-handed enough for that, he need, to wear people down.

I saw the Rubio/Ornales fight as it unfolded. It was a very close and competetiv fight. Neither guy belongs in the ring with KP, but it is a mandatory, and a good way to come back from the BHop shellacking.

Rubio is no Gary Locket. He's not gonna take 3 knees in 3 rounds. I would not be surprised to see a good dust-up for about 5 rounds.

Good analysis - I also see AA's wildness being ineffective against the longer Pavlik. Kelly KO 10.

    He won't have to, AA won't last 12. :D

Hell, even the Great Ayala almost got through 12.....
