Pavlik/Abraham: Sauerland Finally Agrees With Top Rank

    I just watched Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour via the internet. Kalle Sauerland said the Abraham/Forrest fight will happen this summer in the USA. He said he understands the need to raise Arthur's profile in order to make Pavlik/Abraham a viable fight. Personally I'm happy that Sauerland finally sees the light. Raising AA's profile is the main thing Arum has been asking for. Looks like Sauerland is finally going to do what has been ask of him.

    Well, anyone can go to Sentanta.Com, and watch the show. I just think it's good news that Sauerland may be starting to see the sense behind what Arum has asked for all along.

    Why does AA need to raise his profile in the states. Do loads of Americans know who Rubio is??? I dont buy this throw away comments and it just sound like an excuse.

    Sauerland seemed unhappy that the US Networks told them Mora wasn't a big enough opponent for Abraham, hinting that it doesn't make sense if Pavlik fights him etc (if that fight comes off).

    I don't see why Pavlik and Abraham can't just fight this summer. A win means so much more than over anyone else, and Pavlik vs Abraham is going to probably make more money than any other MW fight out there. If it's about money and exposure, then why is Bob talking about Pavlik-Mora?? Abraham wants it, just hope Bob Arum makes it!

    This fight needs to happen. I think it would be a great fight with a lot of action.

    I would go with Pavlik by late KO. Abraham is damn tough though.

    Mora vs Abraham is a fight no one wants to see because no on wants to see either of them...hence no financial sense. In the US you will only have the So Cal mexicans following Mora and NO one following Abraham.

    At least Pavlik will have his following and Mora his to add up to more than a Mexican and Armenian turned Kraut throwing feathers at each other.

    I really believe that Arum thinks Pavlik/Abraham can be a mega-fight, if it is promoted properly. It's a decent money fight now, so why not try to make it huge? Historically middleweight is the second most prestigious division in boxing. A title unification fight deserves to be a major event. Right now KP/AA is just another fight hard core fans want.

    He also said that he doesn't understand why Arum is saying that there is no money in the fight when Sauerland have put a $3 million offer on the table for Pavlik and he doesn't understand why Team Pavlik would be looking at fighting Mora who Sauerland looked at as a potential opponent for Abraham but were told was too weak by the UK networks.

    I guess your selective hearing tuned those parts out, huh?

    Sauerland said it's on. Arum is a ****ing idiot for not putting it on with Pavlik/TBA, no matter who TBA turns out to be.
