These guys had no problem with Abraham fighting Marquez, an old junior middle who fought a draw with McKart one fight before the Lorenzo fight. At this point, Mora would beat Marquez. Mora would also give that Simon cat hell, if not beat him. He wasn't that good. There's one standard for AA, and a completely different standard for Pavlik.

But as I see it at the moment it´s:

    - Abraham want´s to fight Pavlik and makes stay busy fights
    - Pavlik (or at least Pavs Management) has no interest and makes fights with more or less bums on the quality level of Abrahams stay busy fights

...but perhaps thats just my biased view?!

So what your saying is that AA would fight Pavlik for little money??? I tend to doubt that. I know that when someone backs the hometown boy they tend to think of him as different, but AA is in boxing for the same reason that every other boxer is in it for..Make Money..With that being said there are only a limited number of fights/Fighters that you can cash in on..Whats the big deal for AA to come to the States bash a couple of mid-level guys and showcase his skills and talents to make a fight with him and Pavlik a fight that will sell???

In ending I highly doubt that Pavlik would nut up to fight the likes of Taylor and Hopkins only to be feared of AA, while the best fighter that AA has fought was blown out by Pavlik.

Yeah I would say that its your biased...Because looking at who they have fought already it would be hard to look neutral or reasonable to say that AA is willing to fight anywere anytime and Pavlik isnt..That is just based on what they have already done.:good

AA had to loose 8kg+ to make the weight, that's why AA looked like a zombie during weigh-in, his knock-out power seems to be gone, had problems vs an unknown boxer who is not in the top 15, and he had to pace himself a lot to survive the 12 rds.
IMHO he is ripe for the defeat. For me it is very likely that he will loose his next fight due to health problems. Making weight is a serious problem for the body's defences. If Arum was clever he would sign now and let Pavlik take the 0 from AA, otherwise s.o. else will do that and then the money has gone.

There is no sporting reason for Pavlik to go to Germany particularly. It's hardly unheard of though.

There's a very good practical reason for Pavlik to go to Germany and that is that his promoter doesn't appear to believe it's viable to stage the fight in the US, whereas Abraham's promoter is willing to put the fight on.

Yeah, I always felt Pavlik/Arum were more to blame for this fight not happening than Abraham/Sauerland.

I think Team Pavlik has had its confidence shaken by the crushing Hopkins loss.

Awesome news, as long as both teams have it in plan then it's awesome news. Looking forward to more.

Well, raising AA's profile in the USA doesnt mean that Pavlik's management will take the risk and fight AA on American soil.
I am absolutely sure that Pavlik himself would happily agree to face AA,but Pavlik 's management calls the shots and has the last word.
Lets hope that their encounter will really come off!!!!!!!!!!!!:good

Thank you Scar -- you seem to be the first guy that understood the original post. It's GREAT news that Sauerland is doing what Arum asked him to.

Absolutely...this is great news. I am glad that both camps realize that this is the best fight that can be made in the current 160 weightclass!!

    I can't wait!!:happy

Unifying against the other best man in the division is the kind of fight that will make him one of the best eventually when it's all said and done...

Abraham needs to box Pavlik sooner rather than later. I know Pavlik doesn't make 160lbs with ease, but Abraham has got some serious issue with making 160lbs. Sooner or later (I think it will be sooner) those weight problems will be his undoing!

In Boxing News its reported Abraham had to lose over 17lbs in the last two weeks of training. Abraham is one of the strongest & toughest MW's ever! The guy just seems so strong.

Forrest is in a lot of trouble imo! Arthur will get to him & he will hurt him!

Should the winner fight Sturm for the last belt? Or should they look to bigger money fights?

I think the winner would have the right to go after money fights...Tito wouldn't mind Pavlik and though Tito is well past his prime and not very good he could bring some money to the table...

Pavlik vs Mora would be awfull, Pavlik vs Duddy is a mismatch, the fight Pavlik should be looking for is Sturm. Since his next fight is supposed to be in June/July anyway, more than enough time to make the fight viable.

Abraham vs Forrest is a pretty good fight also.
