anyone else think so? These are the types of fights that boxing needs. The best fighting the best even if it means risking their belts. This should be a great fight

its gonna be a match the fans have wanted for awhile. I dont think its a FOY canadaite, Abraham KO Pavilk in 4. Pavilk is a warrior and will swing back but the fight wont go long, thats the only reason why it wont be FOY

It could be... That is if Abraham doesn't coast for the first 6 rounds taking Pavlik jabs to his gloves until he KO's Pavlik with a huge right when Pavlik loses his concentration. But that's my prediction.

This will be a fight that clearly demonstrates the difference between a World Champion, and a pretender with a paper title. Abraham will be less competetive than Miranda and Zertuche, and get knocked out quicker. LuJaun ****ing Simon took 4 rounds off AA. Pavlik will sweep the first five rounds, and leave Abraham slumped on the canvass in 6-7 rounds. It will not be a FOTY type fight. It will be Abraham taking a beating on his way to obscurity. He just isn't that good, and when both careers are over, Abraham will not be remembered as one of Kelly's better wins.

Honestly, I think Taylor would take Abraham out quicker.

50:50 fight depending on Abraham´s and Pavlik´s condition that night.

Abraham in Miranda 2 form will most likely crush Pavlik
Abraham in (not motivated) Simon form will get his ass wooped

I do not mean to make excuses for Abraham, but I could imagine them having a fight at 160 with Abraham losing - then some years later have a rematch at 168 with Abraham winning.

I don't necessarily think it will be FOTY type material, i wouldn't be surprised if Abraham came in struggling with the weight and Pavlik outworks him to a decision. It will have its moments, but i am not expecting Marquez - Diaz type action.

i just don't get the pavlik fanaticism that has infected boxing circles here in the states. maybe i am missing the gene that means because kelly and i are both white and american by birth, i need to blindly, aggressively believe he is unbeatable at middleweight. he has myriad vulnerabilities, i mean, that's hard to deny to anyone who has watched all his fights. perhaps living in the united kingdom poisoned my nationalist pugilistic palate, so to speak. i just cannot hop on a bandwagon that seems, truth be told, rooted in some backward, senseless closeted racism. it's like gerry cooney all over again.

moreover, most of the very same people who were viciously insistent that the aged hopkins would be brushed aside and demolished by pavlike in the weeks leading up to the fight switched seamlessly to blaming the 170-lb. catch-weight and claiming that pavlik is unbeatable at middleweight without conceding anything after the wipeout loss. it seems pretty clear to me that the coherent blueprint hopkins provided could be put to work on pavlik at middleweight too. of course, abraham isn't the fighter to keep pavlik moving backward on the ends of straight 1-2's or keeping him at center ring with the jab. however, i think this fight is pretty much a toss up since both guys are, in my opinion, rugged, good--but limited--sluggers who swing wide and let their feet (and thus their balance) drift with the shot. both choose the wrong punches to throw in combination and in so doing take more time to get off fewer punches. i suppose pavlik's reach gives him a slight edge. it's tragic that pavlik's second victory over taylor created the appearance of some precise, technical boxing skills. the only reason he had the time and room to put his very elementary 1+1=2 stuff in action was that taylor was scared of getting ko'd again.

i am very sure i will be violently assailed with negative responses for even suggesting such heresy, but...well, there it is.

this one may be a knockout of the year contender, as either guy could put the other to sleep...the power and open defense in both corners practically ensures one or both men end up a canvas-back by night's end...but not a fight of the year candidate.
