Ya -- lots of people have a tendency to fall asleep during arthur's fights. He certainly bores the **** out of me.

 

I'm not concerned with Pavlik at 160, not even with Abraham and certainly not with Paul Williams which doesn't have enough power to affect Pavlik's style..

 

Abraham can only beat Pavlik by KO. People make to much of Arthur's defense. He has looked good against guys like Marquez, Ayala, and Miranda, but Bronco McKart recently looked good against Marquez. Miranda fights like old people ****; slow and sloppy, and Ayala's big claim to fame was a draw with Segio Mora.

None of the above indicates that Arthur's defense will look great with Pavlik sneaking lead rights up under his left elbow, and splitting the guard with that jack hammer he calls a jab.

Arthur cannot out box Kelly, but he could knock him out. People criticise KP for being to squared up, but I see the opposite problem more often. He lets his lead foot get to far out in front, and then pushes off the back foot with a right hand. If it lands, it spells trouble for the other guy. when it misses, Pav gets way out of position and off balance. That would be the perfect time for one of Abraham's big left hooks. Also, you should NEVER chase a slugger. One of Arthur's biggest assets is timing the right hand. A lot of AA's rights are slow, looping, sloppy things, but once in awhile they're freaking perfect. I can see a scenario where Kelly chases him into a corner and gets caught coming in. Finally, Kelly needs to go to the body a lot with Arthur, and body punching a fighter who is a lot shorter can be dangerous.

Styles make fights, and all in all I expect Pavlik to look very, very good against AA.
