wow this win has set the forum alight today people...

pavlik is a bum, exposed, hype job etc

firstly i must comment on people who profess to be fans of the sport yet immediately use the above slogans as soon as a fighter loses to hide there fickle nature and disgraceful lack of integrity,to call pavlik overrated etc is plain stupid, anyone with half a brain could see hes not a boxing wizz but a bum,no!(you dont knock out guys like taylor and miranda if your a bum)hopkins couldnt KO jermaine...

facts are he is still a young, fairly green fighter learning his trade i have all the respect in the world for kelly and iv no doubt he will bounce back and maybe in a few years time we will be looking back on kelly as a great MW who learnt a lot from this fight,he was willing to take the challenge and fair play for staying in there till the final bell thats boxing man its like life it throws up suprises, ideal scenarios rarely work out by which i mean pavlik v calzaghe, anyway well done hopkins

finally i must make light of supposed american boxing fans(not all),feel free to return the favour i can take it aswell as give it.lol.some of the threads today range from the humorous to verging on racism,i mean i read one guy saying he was embarassed and was changing his avvy forthwith others making light of "white guys" etc which im not offended by because i consider myself to be an adult not an adolescant.lol what i am offended by are the immediate dumbing down and changing of loyalities following one loss,i can guarantee pavlik lost a million fans over night,i use hatton as an example here and this is the diference between brits and americans the mayweather loss only endeared him to us more and made him just as popular (if not more so) as ever, pavlik like lacy is now on the sidelines stateside!

you have a british fan here kelly.

    "Froch Fan in Love-For-One-Dimensional-Overrated-Fighter Shocker!!!"

...I like Pavlik too. I hope he will come back stronger than ever, just like Taylor did after Pavlik beat him. Then, I will respect him even more.

I don't think so, Kelly is far more an exciting boxer than Lacy ever was. People will love to see him fight at 160 again and besides this he has a loyal fanbase around the Ohio-area...

Good post, man. This is something that has always irked me about Boxing fans. One loss, and they seem to think a fighters career is over and has been fraudulent up until the point he loses. Before even visiting the forums last night after the fight was over, I already knew exactly what topics the General Boxing Forum would be filled with.

When you see Pavlik and Tarver essentially shut out, Cotto's loss to Margarito doesn't seem all that bad. Sure, he was stopped, but he was far more competitive with his rival than any of the rest of the recent bouts involving 'Elite' fighters.

This is the year of upsets......surely RJJ can't do it?!?!? Surely not?

I hope that AA comes to the ring in-shape versus Marquez or 160 will be totally sqashed...

He is still an exciting fighter, and he did legitametly beat Taylor twice, who did beat Hopkins so he cant be a complete bum.

Give him a rest and he'll come back successfull at 160.

Thing is on these boards you are either an ATG or a complete bum, ridiculous...
