i just dont understand u people ...pavlik loses one fight and now hes no good and his trainer needs to go..true pavlik did not look like pav but also hopkins looked great, the best in a long time..all this talk about loew bad mouthing in the ring and before the fight ..you do not have all the facts or they got twisted . see things on here all the time that loew was suppose to have said and did not say...and the things said in the ring were started by someone in hopkins camp.. and how loew should shut up..what about all the trash steward and enzo said before the fights and even after...u people suck . your like gossipy women that hear part of something and then add **** to it or just have to have something to ***** at....any way hopkins did a great job fought like he was 23 not 43 and props to kelly for standing the 12 instead of just giving up....and to those who said his chin is questionable in the past ......now you got your answer.
Hopkins did a good job because Kelly is a limited fighter, he has no plan b, if his double jab and right hand don't work he just decides to do nothing. Kelly will excel against average opposition but when his jab doesn't land to set up his right hand then his power does no damage, hes pretty much useless. I don't think Pavlik throws the uppercut enough either, its double jab straight right i mean its telegraphed predictable ****.
I again reiterate why did Kelly all of a sudden get exposed?? He had these flaws from the start, thats why he is such a great fighter to watch but generally there is always going to be someone around to take advantage of these flaws eventually. He will go back down to 160 and be the man, maybe Abraham beats him, maybe he doesnt but I for one will continue to watch Kelly Pavlik without so much as wisp of expectation like I did before.
Yup, Kelly's chin is definately questionable. Hopkins is not a big puncher and he staggered Pavlik on a couple of occasions.
Hopkins fought his ass off, no doubt about that. I like Loew and I think he brings a lot to the table. Is there a better trainer out there in the boxing world for KP? Maybe, but Jack knows KP well and that is a big asset. This is a message board with a bunch of people who overreact to every punch, let alone fight. That's part of the fun. I think Hopkins and his corner talked plenty of junk leading up to, during and after the fight. Not sure what the issue at the end of the bout was, but I do think Hopkins' camp was starting mess after the fight ended. If I were Pavlik or his camp, I would have reacted pretty much the same way that they did. It's one thing to lose, another to let yourself be punked when the fight is over. Hopkins' corner guy was talking sh*t between almost every round, and I think much of that was for the cameras' benefit. I don't have a problem with Vitali Klitschko punking out Peter's manager after his bout and I didn't have an issue with Kelly's camp being pissed at the end of the fight. There did seem to be some incitement from Hopkins and his guys. No big deal, that's boxing. And Hopkins was cool to come over and pump up Kelly -- a guy he clearly respects -- when everyone calmed down. I like both fighters. And I'm not worried about Kelly coming back strong. He's not the kind of guy to let stuff get to him too much, I think. Not the Youngstown mentality to be like that.
Kelly was exposed. Never in the fight. Lost every second of every round. It was a complete embarassament to lose that badly. Sure Hopkins is an ATG. But daaaaamn he is 43 years old and kick the living **** out of Kelly. sad sad way to lose!
and you are the person we need to hear from...some one who always hated pavlik nobody wants to hear your ****
I think Pavlik should ditch Loew and tbh this is not a hindsight is 20/20 comment. i thought Pavlik should ditch Loew before the Hopkins fight. Although i expected PAvlik would win, i still thought that having Loew in his corner was hurting his chances. Everything i was saying PAvlik would do to win the fight, Lowe was saying pre-fight they were gonna go almost the exact opposite. I figured he might be just talking for the cameras, cause lets be honest he seems to spend more time in front of cameras than focusing on boxing, but obviously he was serious.
When you deal with people like Pantera, just remind them that Pavlik whipped their fighter's ass. Why do you think they hate Pavlik so much in the first place? By the way, I like both Miranda and Pavlik. I wish Miranda had more technique to go with his fighting spirit and physical talent.
I'm not talking about the ring talk or the corner work of Loew during the fight AT ALL. But: "We’re not concerned about Bernard Hopkins running around the ring and moving and showing how slick he is. We’re prepared for that too. We’re not dumb enough to just walk straight at him and throw one-twos down the middle. We know what a great fighter he is. So, we’ve got a whole lot more plans for Bernard Hopkins than they realize. So, if they’re thinking that we’re one dimensional, that’s great for them." And: "Bernard is going to discover on October 18 that his new world really is flat ... flat on his back. Kelly has had his best training camp ever and he is ready to shiver Hopkins' timbers from stem to stern. Kelly is prepared to fight Hopkins from the inside and the outside and if he gets the chance to put Hopkins away, he's going for it, unlike Joe Calzaghe. Kelly has more guts and confidence in himself than Calzaghe and he's going to ice Hopkins if the opportunity presents itself, and I think it will. Calzaghe is not a dumb guy. He's fighting Roy Jones instead of Kelly for a reason...self preservation." Tell me Loew didn't say those things and I will apologize for calling him an *******.
In light of the circumstances, this may be one of the stupidest statements in boxing history. Even dumber than some of the things Peter's camp said about Vitali Klitschko. Calzaghe would wreck Kelly Pavlik, and I like Kelly Pavlik. If Kelly had problems with Hopkins' speed, Calz would look like Neo in The Matrix dodging bullets in slow-mo.
