Pavlik lost every second of that fight and looked horrible.
Sorry if I dont sugarcoat it for his fans. It is the sad truth.

I dislike Pavlik and I am happy to see him lose. He was a fake and needed to be exposed. If there is going to be that much hype behind a fighter, let it be legit.

Abraham deserves the hype at middleweight. Not Pavlik.

Hopkins fought fought like he was 36.

It just is that most people haven't really understood that life spans get longer and 40 is the new 30 is the new 20 etc. Human evolution. We live on average 40 years longer than we did around 1900. We are on average 20 cm taller than we were arond 1900.

As the HBO crew ended up saying. We will have to get used to 40 year olds doing what Hopkins did. 40 yos today are often as young as 25 yos were 50 years ago. Evolution.

Hopkins is fit, takes care of hiself and has immense experience. Best of all worlds...

Let's not forget Pavlik took the fights at two weight divisions above his own. He fought under BHop's conditions. Pavlik deserves credit for that. He has flaws. Everyone has them. It is not like BHop does not. BHop's biggest wins are against guys going up in weight to face him - Trinidad, De La Hoya, Pavlik... When BHop moved up in weight he did not fight the best. He fought Winky Wright - a super welterweight and Tarver right after shooting the Rocky installment. Tarver had to move down like 20 pounds or something.

No shame for Kelly not being able to walk down a bigger and stronger BHop. Still I disagree with the idea of him going back to 160, especially against Abraham. Nobody at 168 right now would beat BHop at 170, and 168 is where Kelly belongs. Maybe he defends against Rubio for confidence then moves up, but he belongs at 168. Way more fights to be made for him there anyway. I'd start him off with an easy one against Manfredo or Lacy if he wins, then move on to either Froch or Inkin before stepping up to Kessler and Bute.


For that matter Abraham belongs at 168 too. These guys are killing themselves to make 160 and it's not really fair to have that much of a size advantage.
