Pavlik is still just 26, he can come back from here. I know the relationship is very close with Loew, but perhaps Kelly should listen to Nard and look for someone who can teach him upper body and head movement, better footwork, a few tricks and of course fighting backwards, giving more angles etc...

Loew doesn't have to be fired... like Rubio is still in Khan's corner, Jack can be there, but there are several master trainers who could teach a lot of things to Pavlik. If not, the style he possesses will be enough against Locketts, but not enough for the Abrahams, Kesslers or Calzaghes. Hard decision and I shouldn't tell anyone what to do, but it would be the logical move IMO.

    Kelly will be back.

Yeah, tell that to Pat Burns:lol:

John David Jackson would be a good assistant trainer, but I don't think it would work with Jack still there. I don't think you could add a new major influence to Jack & Kelly, nor move Jack to second fiddle. Ultimately, I don't think Kelly's capable of changing his style that much. I also doubt there's anything he could've done to beat Bernard at 170, I couldn't see any of the guys at 168 beating Bernard either.

Well, if you referring to the move to hire Manny Steward, yeah, it was stupid.

BUT! It was surprisingly made after a WIN over Hopkins, how stupid move was that? (one thing is for sure: Kelly SHOULDN'T pick Manny). But it was a bad LOSS to Pavlik, he lost every minute of the fight and a lot of weaknesses became evident (or were evident before the fight but a masterful boxer was needed to build a win on them). But the pattern is now there just like the pattern how to beat Mayorga or Khan (I don't say they are on the same level, but there's a working strategy how to beat them.)

But IMO Arum will suggest a change anyway...

    Thats exactly it right there!
Nothing against Pavlik. He's a decent fighter and entertaining to boot but his fans pissed loads of people off with their claims that he'd destroy fighter A,B or C just by throwing lots of hard punches. Many of them came across as fans of Pavlik rather than boxing fans and displayed poor knowledge of the sport.

    Jetski excepted however.

what he said and pavlik has to plant his feet before throwing his punches else he has not accuracy or leverage behind that punch.

I think Loew needs to go. He had everyone convinced he had a plan A, B, and C. Perhaps he even convinced himself. But throughout the fight all i heard him utter was double jab-right hand.

Also Pavliks power was in a way overrated, i said this before and was proved right. At middleweight he is punching downwards, generating power, because of his 6ft 3" frame, however when he steps up in weight his opponents get bigger and this nullifys his natural advantages in height in reach. For instance Bhop is 6ft 1" and both men have a 75" reach.

Therefore i feel Pavlik needs to stay at 160, not at 168 or higher, people like Kessler are still pretty big and far better technically than Pavlik

The bad talk from Leow WASN'T twisted, I've seen the man in video interviews talking complete rubbish about how they have various plans, how Hopkins' is out of it...etc
