Yeah ,what was very telling to me is that he said its not about the money he will fight for ten thousand dollers. Good to here. I think Pavliks got the old hunger back that not even a Snickers can satisfy. Pavlik is all about getting up when he has been down! He can go all the way to the top he has done it before!

I wonder about the leaving town to train. You are either committed and focused or you are not. If they decide to train elsewhere they need to have permanent facilities so they will have a certain comfort level while away. Otherwise, it will end up the same as it has in the past.

Every 'job' has things you only learn by doing. Boxing is NOT rocket science even though people like to call it "The Sweet Science". It is not science, it is art, ala martial arts. Science you can do the same thing over and over and will always get the exact same KNOWABLE results. With an art you take all you have learned and apply it as needed. Rounds 4/8 ring a bell here? Yet Kelly is a slow one dimensional plodder.... :think

I don't know if Pavlik needs a trainer to reinvent the wheel but going to a camp where he isn't as comfortable may not be the worst thing in the world IMO.

I did read that his dad said Pavlik might do better in a bigger center. Lets face it he grew up there and all his old freinds want to buy the middle weight champ a beer. How would anyone feel turning down a beer from a old friend? You would be thinking that they think your to good for them to drink with them now that you made it big.

You don't put yourself in that situation, especially while training. Also, any true friend would understand. Not like his drinking hasn't made front page.

Well there are still some who believe the top shelf pros have the art of kickin' a man's ass down to a science.....but we've done that one before....haha.

I do see what you were sayin' about the out of town....on that one, I guess I'm curious. Like you said, either he's gonna quit ****in' around or he's not. But to me, that one could still be a "maybe" as far as better or not.

Trainer, hell to the **** no! Anybody that can't see that it is a fairly special chemistry between Jack and Kelly just must not be lookin' too close, and imo, breakin' that would be the final straw w/out question.

Yeah, but he has lot of people that just know him from school or other things around Youngstown. He is basicly the local hero so you are going to get lots of people offering you drinks. I read that his dad said Kelly is just a guy that can't say no. So I think maybe he should leave Youngstown with Jack Lowe.

During the pre-fight build up to the first Pavlik/Taylor fight Manny Steward was flat out disrespectful of KP. It was not your typical pre-fight smack talk. This stuff was on a whole different level, and Steward was so bad that Pavlik deserved big credit for not ***** slapping him.

Within moments of the fights conclusion Steward was kissing Pavlik's ass, and trying to set himself up as Pavlik's trainer before Taylor had even talked about firing him. That shows a serious lack of personal integrity, and I could not condone doing business with a guy like that. Pavlik needs Steward about as much as I need an extra ******* in the middle of my forehead.

Freddy Roach already has to many fighters. Pac is the only guy who gets Roach's undivided attention. I have no idea how many fighters train and work out at the Wildcard Gym. However, I'd bet my ****ing house that Roach would not shut it down for Pavlik's exclusive use during training camp like Leow does Southside.

Nazim Richardson is a thinking fighter's coach. He does his best work with cerebral types like Hopkins. Kelly Pavlik is at his best when he's in full-on blood and guts warrior mode. He is absolutely not a cerebral type fighter. Richardson would be a good guy to come in for a couple weeks during sparring, but they already have Miguel Diaz who is every bit as smart as Richardson.

Pat Burns is training Jermain Taylor again. No way in hell can Pavlik and Taylor use the same trainer.

Pavlik has been outspoken and consistent on Leow. He is not going to change trainers.

Jack Leow took a skinny 9 year old boy who had very little natural ability, and raised him up from a child to a champion. Some people insist Leow has held Pavlik back. Nonsense! How many trainers would have stuck with Pavlik through all his bull****. Not many. Most trainers would abandon a drunken, drug addled fighter in a heartbeat. Kelly is lucky to have a guy like Leow to depend on.

    :deal:thumbsup

People are so ****in' ignorant. They hear one person say some **** and they all repeat it over and over I guess thinkin' it makes them look smart on a boxing board.

Like a trainer, ANY trainer is gonna teach KP fast twitch muscle fibers....:nut
Or to be thinkin' in there like Bernard does......:nut

Only Jack can bring KP back to that 2007 form that he brought Kelly to in the first place.

I agree for the most part, but underneath it all, only Kelly can bring Kelly back to his peak form. One thing that impressed me early on was that KP seemed to be one of the hungriest fighters in recent memory. That hunger created the willingness to get into the insane training regimen, and that training is what made him such a beast.

Another thing that impressed me early on was that KP seemed to be almost totally without ego. He never got caught up in trying to prove he was a great "boxer." He seemed to be perfectly okay with being a "fighter." Obviously there were many reasons for the loss to Martinez, but I honestly believe he was hung up on out boxing Martinez instead of just beating his ass, ego was a problem.

Like I've said in other posts, I'm very skeptical, but I would love to see the Youngstown Beast back in top form.

**** almighty, think about fights like a focused and determined Pavlik versus Froch the boxed AA's ears off!

He would get destroyed by Bute. Smart move. Now he can fight someone else with a chance to win.
