Pavlik apologizes for terrible decisions

    They probably still think Pavlik got out of the deal because Bute lowballed him and nothing you can say will make them change their mind.

    Nothing against Floyd but Pavlik has stepped up to the plate a lot more the Floyd has the last 4 years. 8 fights, Taylor x2, Hopkins, Martinez, that pisses all over anything Floyd has attempted lately.

    kelly has also pulled out more than a porn star. maybe it was medical, maybe it was personal, maybe it was financial...but he's pulled out of as many big fights as he was in basically.

    he needs to prove a lot and hopefully he's up to it.

    He delayed the Williams fight because of a staff infection and Williams pulled out. Pavlik wanted to fight Williams 2 other times but Williams did not want the fight. So Pavlik fought Hopkins and Martniez instead. You think he was ducking Williams to fight Hopkins and Martinez?

    Pavlik has pulled out of only one big fight and that was against Bute. I don't blame him for not fighting Bute only one fight out of rehab.

    jesus christ i don't need the same wash rinse and repeat lines i've been using on here to defend pavlik for four years. he's not reliable. period. and this is coming from someone who has sat on this board and dealt with calzaghe fans, then abraham fans, then williams fans, and then just plain haters. you just got on here.

    so save those lines for someone who hasnt used or heard them. i will not believe one word that comes out of that camp and i question what has in the past. i will judge him based on what he does from here on out.

    The impression I got from Kelly canceling the last two fights was that Top Rank/Dunkin never told him about the money til the week before the fight and he just reacted really strong about it. He had some time too cool off and be rational and now he's ready to take the long road back (which I think maybe best given how he looked vs Lopez).

    I feel you dude. I had a name on here back in 07' O-HIGH-O. I remember all the Williams cal and AA fans. I will Promise you this though! In no way shape or form did Pavlik DUCK Williams! (I kno u didnt say he did) but Thats from someone i can trust! Pavlik has lost alot of fans and has almost Burnt all his Bridges. Lucky that he is still signed to TOP RANK. Thats why he will still be able to fight again! TOP RANK OWNS BOXING. You will see a different Kelly this time around! I promise! :good

    Im sure he was mad about the money! It was a big factor. BUT! He wasn't Mentally ready!

    You said Pavlik has pulled out of as many big fights as he has had. I don't know you as a poster because I am new, so I was just getting the facts straight. Someone could read that and actually believe it.

    I don't think he has pulled out of 4-5 big fights. And I have been following Pavlik's carreer since the Bronco Mckart fight. I admit I am new to being online so maybe I missed something.

    I remember the first time I heard of Kelly Pavlik I was reading a Ring Magizine article on the new faces back in the early 2000s or late 90s. Maybe I will post the artical here if I find the mag.

    Pavlik Pulled out of like 4 to 5 fights.

    Pavlik has had 5-6 BIG FIGHTS considering who you think was a BIG fight.
    (McKart,Zungia, Miranda, Taylor x2, Hopkins, Martinez)


    He pulled out of Williamsx2 right? and Bute. YOU could consider CUNNINGHAM a big fight also because it was his SOUTHPAW to get ready for bute. Who else did he pull of? I cant remember, i know theres 1 more

    Let's not play the semantics game. Sergio Mora. Paul Williams. Daryl Cunningham, Lucian Bute. All fights that were signed or promised. Not all big fights. Bute wasn't signed. Well, Paul Williams claims he never signed but that is another story..... :lol:

    As far as the Williams fights all I know is that Pavlik was trying to make that fight and Williams did not want it so he fought Hopkins.

    The second time Pavlik had a staph infection and delayed the fight and Williams actually pulled out of the fight.

    The third time Pavlik offered Williams a 60-40 deal and Williams did not take the fight so Pavlik fought Martinez.

    I don't know why you think Pavlik pulled out of a fight with Williams x2?

    Pavlik did pull out of a fight with Bute for sure and the Cunningham fight was just a prep fight for Bute. I would not consider a 50k fight vs Cunningham a big fight.

    Pavlik imo has pulled out of one big fight.

    And like I said I dont blame him, it was the right move imo. They rushed the Bute fight on him for sure. Pavlik was not ready and he knew it, so did I.
