Word! :good Remeber, Kelly was NEVER supposed to beat Edison Miranda. HBO brought him in as cannon fodder to set up Taylor-Miranda.
that's not it.he is a drunk who cancel fights, don't give a flying **** about his fans, even about his home town fans,he is demanding at least 3 millions for a fight even tho he fail the big tests and he spoke **** about fellow boxers to defend his ass.that's why we think he is a bum, cause he care more about a 6 pack than his fans.
Pavlik's career resembles Charlie Sheen's... Going well... Taking ridiculous decisions... Appologizing...
What planet do you come from? People make judgments on race like it or not, even I do. White Americans have not done well in boxing for a long time so people automatically asume they must be bums.
I Guess getting out boxed once by an atg makes you as a bum these days. So make me a list of fighters that are not bums based on your formula.
Pavlik/Zuniga is a fight I never tire of watching. The irony is, I was a Zuniga fan at least a year or so before I was a real Pavlik fan. The Pavlik/Zuniga fight showed us two very hungry contenders in a fight that was extremely important to their respective careers. The vacant NABF title was on the line, and back in 2005 the NABF title was still a pretty important stepping stone on the road to a WBC world title fight. The winner would be on the short list of challengers. The loser would have to choose another path. Zuniga was coming off a KO win over David Lopez in a ****ing WAR that saw both fighters hit the canvass, and a draw with Zertuche in another barn burner. At that point Pavlik hadn't fought anyone worth talking about. (Ross Thompson was probably his best win.) When describing KP/FZ I think "gritty" is an understatement. That fight shows us EXACTLY why it took Pavlik so long to get a world title fight, and EXACTLY why Abraham screwed Zuniga out of his mandatory IBF title shot. Just as a point of boxing trivia, if you count the IBO title as a real world title, Zuniga became a "world champion" 28 days before Kelly did. He knocked out Victor Oganov on 9-1-2007. Pavlik/Taylor one took place on 9-29-2007.
it got nothing to do with losing to hopkins.it has to do with the fact that he is an unreliable drunk who cancel fights even in his shitty small town if he doesn't get millions,it has to do with the fact that pacquiao gave him an undercard when he was back on track,he made some nice cash for a fight with lopez then 3 months later starts trashing manny for being a gamble addict to cover his own drinking problems and the list goes on.....that's a bum in my book
Maybe he has made some mistakes but anyone can make mistakes. What matters is how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward and that is what Pavlik is doing. He checked into rehab got himself sober and now is willing to fight for ten thousand dollers. Pavlik is not giving up so I don't see why you are so quick to give up on him.
You see many fighters look great at a low level, throwing all sorts of combinations and variations. As soon as they step up, they lose that and box within their limitations. Pavlik is the same. He'll look like a totally different level to anyone around a C-class level and when he fights them, he'll look awesome. At an elite level, however, Pavlik is predictable. It's not even a fault either. Joe Frazier was one dimensional too and relied heavily on his left hook. To deny it though is strange. He's obviously one dimsensional.
Why are you debating that fool? I read a few of his posts, compared his derogatory and inflammatory statements with the very small handful of factual statements he makes, and promptly assigned him position #56 on my ignore list. Yes, ESB has an ignore list option. Liberal use makes this forum a lot more fun.
