Yeah. His choice to defend rather than be stripped. Probably a big factor in opponent choice. Look for a the right early and often to try and end it soon? Sometimes he throws the left open anyhow to blind opponents to the right already set in motion.

Here's the thing. When the fight was postponed for the second time, all the reports were that Team Pavlik wanted to reschedule for January. This Vindy article states that Jan. or Feb. was the targeted return date. However, Pavlik fans are claiming Williams was asked by Pavlik to move the date to Dec. 19th. To me it seems that one of those claims is incorrect. I can't see how all of them could be right. I don't know the whole story, but it looks like they asked Williams to move the fight to Jan., they were rebuffed and then took this fight due to pressure from the orgs. I totally understand Kelly taking this course of action, and I wish him the best of luck. However, it appears that the claims that Pavlik wanted to fight Williams on Dec. 19th are inaccurate. Loew himself states that he is unwilling to put Pavlik in there with Williams at less than 100%. That being said, it doesn't make sense that he would ok a mere two week delay to fight Williams when his fighter still couldn't make a fist, let alone train.

Screw being stripped, with a division that weak. He could win the title back in no time.

Not a Pavlik fan, but him and his handlers are wrong with this decision. If he's as badly hurt as they say he is. Then they should wait it out and let him continue to heal.

A fighters long term health is more important than some worthless trinket.

Again, and last time, they initially asked for two weeks. Many, myself included, thought that was too optimistic. HBO nixed the two weeks because it wasn't available so that moved it to January. Did Team Pavlik know/suspect HBO would nix the two weeks? I don't know.

I got a question, how can Pavlik be stripped if the fighter he's facing is not even close to top 15 or more then that contender? And didn't Pavlik said that he almost died? Something tells me that Pavlik or his ******ed team is lying like crazy.

So now yesterday, Team Williams turned down the two week delay, today it's HBO who turned it down?

no, its just that news of the allergic reaction to the medication just now came out. the actual incident was a couple months ago. the staph is gone its just that he still doesnt have full use of the hand. the orgs are now on his back and he seems to have a choice of fighting this can, get some rounds, knock some rust off, or be stripped.

yo honestly... you can twist & turn it however you want but pavlik looks like an ass in this situation

    he either

    - should have never signed the contract
    - said the truth
    - went to his doctors appointments
    - never taken the fight to begin with
    - should not even be fighting this burger anyways

no matter how you spin it pavlik looks like a jack ass
