Is this a serious figure? People keep talking about how great the German market is? Pavlik should go to Germany where the money is better for this fight? WTF?

Unless Williams just blows a shot to **** Winky out of the ring, the outcome of that fight will in fact change the landscape quite a bit. If that fight is as good as say Taylor/Wright, it won't matter who wins. Pavlik vs the winner would become a huge fight.

If Winky wins, Kelly Pavlik vs Winky Wright in Cincinatti or Atlantic City would be HUGE. It's huge in terms of legacy, money, and over all stature in the boxing world. One can hardly blame Arum for remaining uncommitted until we see the outcome.

Suppose Winky wins, and Top Rank and Team Pavlik say no to Arthur for a summer opponent and yes to Winky, would ayone in their right mind accuse KP of ducking a little known German so he can FIGHT WINKY WRIGHT?

Again, you can't blame Arum for remaining uncommited until after the dust clears. Sauerland has issued statements that make it clear they are in close contact with Top Rank. Pavlik has absolutely no history of avoiding challenges. If we assume he really does want to fight the best, and be well paid for his efforts, from a business standpoint, from a legacy stand point, and from a stature standpoint, AA is simply not the only potential fight that matters.

Tom Tocca has quoted figures similar to Manik's $700K figure. Pavlik got $2.5 million for Gary freaking Lockett, $3 million for BHop, $750K for Taylor I, and over $1.5 million for Taylor II. When it comes to commanding the dollars, accomplishment, and resume', Arthur is simply not in the same league with Kelly.

When RJJ vs CalZ was in the promotional stages Roy was saying stuff like Pavlik didn't do anything to deserve CalZ, & that Pavlik missed his opportunity because both he & CalZ called Pav out before. He was just talkin wreckless.

Well . . . the Calzaghe/Pavlik story is one of the most thoroughly documented ducks in history. Doesn't matter who would have won. We know who wanted to fight, and who hid behind a version of Roy Jones that was more shot than Martin Luther King and the Kennedy boys combined!

Never heard of Jones making an offer. We know Pavlik offered Cal $10 million the first open date he had available. Joe ran like a scared little girl. Even had to fire his manager to get out of that fight.

Exactly. But I can't blame him, its easier money and looks better on paper, right?

LoL. Seriously. But CalZ, RJJ & Winky have all claimed to have offered Pav fights back in the day.

Well, JC really shot himself in the foot with his two claims. First one, according to JC's statement on when he offered Pavlik a fight would have placed it right after Pavlik fought Zuniga. WTF? Why would a 168 belt holder be offering a title shot to an unknown MW whose best win to that point was Zuniga? Maybe he knew Pav's potnential and figured he needed to get him early on? Second was when Pav was contractually obligated to JT, who really dragged out the negotiations on that fight. He tied up Kelly way too long.

Jones. Really, I have NEVER heard of that offer. Not saying it didn't happen, but still, prior to Pav taking care of Lockett, he had NO open dates on his fight card for this kind of a fight. Earlier? Wouldn't have made any sense.

Winky has turned Pavlik down multiple times. Team Pavlik called Winky out many times when Kelly was on his way up the ranks. Gotta give Winky a pass on that. Kelly was nobody in those days.

However, after KP beat Taylor is when things heated up. Wright basically demanded a title shot. Arum told him to go fight Sturm and come back with something Kelly wants. Winky took no action except to accuse Pav of ducking him. Last summer Top Rank offered Winky $2.4 million and a slice of the PPV revenue, but Winky turned it down.

Kelly's latest statement on Winky: "Winky Wright? He's a little guy that doesn't hit very hard. I'd love to smack him around for a few rounds."
