Pavliks jab will be negated throughout this match, thus he will never get it going. He will be outsmarted, and knocked out.

I agree, Hopkins will loose a UD based on low activity. He has enough tricks to make it difficult and sloppy for Pavlic, I dont see him getting stopped or hurt.

    Look at his latest fights

Taylor and Calzaghe - lost based on their higher workrate. Hops never hurt, didnt allow them to land much flush.

Winky and Tarver - both guys were out of shape. Winky had lower output than normal. Hops capitalized on them being out of shape and was able to win.

Pavlic will be in shape. It will be a typical boring and sloppy fight with Hops pulling out all the tricks but ending up loosing.

He needs to retire, he cant fight 12 rounders anymore.

I like Pavlik, but he is not the be all and end all of boxing. He's a very big and powerful MIDDLEWEIGHT, but against Hopkins, he isn't such a giant, and he isn't punching downwards. Will he carry his power up almost 2 weight groups? We won't know until saturday. If he doesn't he sure as hell won't outbox Hopkins. Hopkins is gonna be setting traps for him all night, like he did against the far more experienced Calzaghe. If Pavlik wins it'll be by SD

I've heard there are concerns about the selection of the ref and judges. They are all IBF folks.

Why would there be concerns about that?

Kelly does not pay sanctioning fees to the IBF. Bernard does being a former IBF champ.

    Ah right I see, cheers

This adds to my belief that Hopkins stands a very chance in this fight

Zaragoza was a different kind of cat, like Bernard is. Remember, right before the Morales fight he had looked very impressive in a great win over Wayne McCullogh. Oh, and he was 39.

Now for Bernard. Bernard has shown that he has the crafty style and incredible fitness to fight effectively into his later years. He's never really taken a beating, so I don't have a huge problem with him fighting at age 44.

However, there is no doubt he just didn't look the same against Calzaghe. For the first time he really did look a bit old and tired, unable to really muster much of an attack past the early rounds. I expect the same thing from Pavlik. Bernard will most likely look to clinch and fight in spots, and while Pavlik will land plenty of shots, I don't think he stops him, but will take a wide UD.

Age is the one the ADVANTAGES that Hopkins has in this fight. Aside from experience, no one expects him to win (4 to 1 underdog) he got nothin to lose. All the pressure is on undefeated Pavlik. If Hopkins does lose we all just say heck he's 43. Pavlik has much more at stake if he loses.

B-Hop will be Pavliks most dangerous opponent to date.

Unfortunately, you may be right.........B-Hop at this stage, is just a defensive minded fighter that probably wont be able to withstand the constant pressure Kelly intends to bring. He got away with it with Joe but I don't think it will work with Kelly.

Kelly TKO Bernard in what will be a sad night for the sport of boxing :|

Don't be sad. You always got those delicious ribs at Caleco's Sports Bar and Grill downtown. If you go there, please tell the gorgeous blonde girl who drives the horse and buggy I said thank you for that night at the econo lodge :good
