Im really suprised that people are counting him out. I mean everywhere I look people seem to think he is going to get schooled. I think his stiff jab is going to disrupt alot of Paul's offense. Granted Paul has good movement and throws alot of punches so I see it as somewhat competitive but over the course of the fight I just see Pavlik wearing him down, pushing him back and landing hard shots. Will Pavlik open up as the underdog? By the sounds of it he might and I wouldn't mind trying to make a little money on this. This is all contingent on Pavlik being back to his old self of course.
a lot of people go by rumors and still think that being beaten by a bigger, smarter, veteran boxer who has the worst style possible for him means something. even after he dominated everyone he fought before (and after) that awful choice of a fight. fight fans need to realize that pavlik's not fighting bhop and he's not fighting at smw. he's fighting at his weight against paul williams. this fight will not go the same way. pavlik is still the number one middleweight in the world.
Well even though you started to become a member in esb forum in 08, you only post 15 times in which you are a newbie that don't know that many people here are picking Pavlik to win. I'm not one of them. I feel Williams will win cause i could see him using angles throwing punches from everyside frusterating Pavlik.
haha you could fill a library on the pav/pw and pav/aa stuff on here yeah a lot of people are picking pav but a lot arent. there are a lot of question marks for both fighters which is going to make this very interesting. 100% old pav = bad news for pw pw being able to stand in there better than a lot think he can = good news for pw
I know people are picking Pavlik but I would say about 60 or more percent are picking Williams on this board if I'm not mistaken. And this is actually closer than others. I looked up predictions on you tube and damn near 90 % were for Williams.
I know it was quite obvious they were f**king ******ed I couldn't even get through there analysis cause it was obvious they only watched a fight or two
Well i won't be really shock if there are 60 percent or more that is picking Williams but you act like nobody is picking Pavlik. But like dbou said many are picking Williams just like many are picking Pavlik. It's like split 50/50.
Williams can't control the distance like Hopkins, and he's not as good a ring general and he'll get dragged into a fight, he won't use his reach or work on the inside, he'll get dragged into a mid-range fight which is exactly where Pavlik wants it. Pavlik will take whatever Williams throws at him, he's been hit a lot harder, and can throw a lot of punches himself. He'll break Williams down and get a late stoppage.
